Cost too much
Getting mine in March. 😀
this is the newest mac in the market! 🙂
This is way over priced
It may be overpriced but I love it. Instead of bumping up to a 512gb drive for 800 bucks through apple, I got the 579 option of 480GB through OWC, which has a 20% faster read and write time with a Sandforce controller. Next year’s rMBP will feature the Intel HD4600 integrated gnu for a 15% increase in gpu power. It’s lighter, smaller and far more portable than the 15″; I have a desktop for gaming and powerhouse usage. I’ve been very pleased and had less headaches from eye strain as well <3
Yeah, the Haswell has the INtel HD4600 and it’s gunna be more pipelines or… however it works… it’s going to have a 15% increase in raw power but because of the way it’s tweaked on the back of the cpu, it will give 20+% higher numbers. Should be used on these machines in 2013 according to Foxconn workers.
Very informative, thanks
Next year, apple will kill the classic macbook pro, and sell the retina models as standard for $1399 (13 inch) and $2099 (15 inch).
when i saw it on the apple store, it looked so much like the macbook air, don’t know why i didn’t like that, i think i’ll wait for the next gen and get the 15 inch retina
Am thinking of getting the MacBook Pro
Just saw its not a gaming laptop is a iMac one
On kind of a side note, the Intel HD integrated graphics aren’t as bad as I thought. The 4000 version can play most modern games on medium graphics, some even on high, which isn’t bad at all for integrated if you ask me. Although, for that price, even Apple should included dedicated. I am just saying, it’s nice to see that integrated GFX are rapidly becoming a viable option for gaming and video editing. The good thing here is less power consumption, but I guess more concentrated heat o.0
Haswell will be even better. I think it is tough to include dedicated in a 13 inch because of how small it is.
So around what time this year do you think apple will be releasing those lower prices for the retina. I’m going off to college this fall and I’m looking to buy a retina Mac!
I really prefer the disk drive, so I’m going with the MacBook Pro 13″. Same software and I can live with a hard drive (saves more data!)
that’s not really the main reason because you can check the iFixit site for both 13 and 15 inch retinas and you’ll see that the nvidia chip is really small, I think they didn’t include descrete graphics because many people (including Apple) think that you can’t use a 13” inch as a primary computer (size issues) and they prefer not to boost it up with the latest hardware
I agree it might be able to fit but would push costs even higher probably matching the 15 inch retina. The 15 inch has a bit more surface area for cooling as well.
I bloody hope they do. I am holding off purchasing a mac right now because of the rumours saying that all Apples current macbooks will get the retina display as standard this June. I hope Apple drop the price but even though the obvious move is to make the retina macbook pro cheaper like the previous generation original macbook pro. I have this feeling that Apple is going to disappoint us in the price category like they do many times. Let’s hope I’m wrong.
Hey there! Have you ever heard related to the Rapid Cash Fortune? I discovered it on Google Search and read lots of awesome stuff about it. Some of my mate also advise me to look into it
I bought the 13 inch Retina and tried if for nearly two weeks. I loved the weight, size, and the amazing screen. Once you use the retina you will be ruined to go back. After a week I took it back and picked up a 15 inch Retina because its a better overall value. Now that I have the 15 inch I do miss the small light design but realize I’m better off sticking with the 15.
