Why are just Retina MacBooks slim? I mean, c’mon, you cant tell me that the stuff from a normal macbook pro (except hdd) won’t fit in a slim case?!

This is one of the best reviews I have seen on the 13″ Retina Macbook Pro. I too would like to see the 13″ be a smaller version of the 15″ and not a drastically less powerful machine. I do need a computer for travel and am considering the 13″ Retina display or the Macbook Air. However, I will probably wait until next year when the Macbook Air may also have a retina display (this is not confirmed I am just speculating) and the 13″ Macbook Pro gets an update and hopefully, a price reduction.

I really want one… But I’m going to wait for next year, knowing that ivy bridge has been out for 6 months now, apple will be sure to do an update in the future. Lets hope for a cheaper premium!

“Retina” is just a method of showing that Apple has great displays. They picked the name “Retina” because the amount of pixels put together will not be recognized by your retina. And for the way it’s to be explained, it’s pretty much having your whole screen rendered at 2560×1600 however, is previewing your whole work space in a modest resolution, so you can actually read your text.

You didn’t mention the quality of the speakers! Is it as good as the 15 inch retina macbook pro (which I hear has amazing speakers)…?

i was about to buy the mbp retina and it looked too similar to the air 13 inch
i think i’ll just wait for the next gen of the mbp where retina would be standard, the price will drop and i’ll have better specs options

Thanks for this review it helped me decide on what i wanted and I ended up getting the 15″ retina macbook pro hehee love it blows always my old 2010 macbook air hehe screen resolution really is insane!!! wow.
