It was the summer of 1997 somewhere in Brooklyn the sun was warm and the holidays had just kicked in. Apple had just released their new Iphone 13 in the US and I was looking forward to making my first video on my new Iphone 12 that my mom had just recently bought for me.

Me: Planning on doing a durability test on my new Iphone 12 .Takes out sim card….. meanwhile mom comes to my room and knocks at my door it was unlocked……

Mom :”Boy why is your cell offline and what are you doing with that lighter and screw driver ?”

Me:”I …..eeer…. am trying to clean the dust on my phone’s display… mom.”

Mom:” If you damage that Iphone that I got you last week I will beat the living daylights out of you so hard that they will find your ass on the moon.”

Me:”Jesus Ma! ” .(Puts the lighter and the screw driver to their designated places and returns the sim to the phone)

Mom:”Jesus ain’t gonna help you if you damage that iphone.”

Me:”Ok Ma .Iam going to Jerry’s to play some video games”

Mom:”You just going there to see Jerry’s sister Tasha”

Me:”MoooM cmon am just going to play some video games”

Mom:”Ok just remember I ain’t raising no babies .Have fun and dont forget dinner is at seven.”

Meanwhile at Jerry’s ….. .Me knocks at the door… door is opened.Tasha opens the door holding a cup.

Me: “….whats…..up Tasha?”

Tasha: “Hey Chris is that the new iphone ?”

Me :completely frozen but after a few minutes , ”No its ..the last..year version.”

Tasha: ”Cool , Jerry is at the garage ”

Me : “thanks …er ..nice cup”

Tasha: ”Boy you so crazy”

Me :”…ok…” Heads to the garage hurriedly and finds Jerry doing a durability video on the new iphone.

Me :”Hey dude ? man is that the new iphone ?”

Jerry:”Hey man . And yep it is the new iphone 13 I’ve been burning the screen for the last 5 min and still no damage .I see you have an iphone as well.”

Me : “That is cool man . mine is last year’s version my mum bought it for me last week”.”I should test my screen too”

Jerry :”Even if my phone was undamaged by flame, keep in mind that I buy my own devices so my mom doesn’t care what I do with them. But if your mom just bought you a new Iphone and you take a lighter to it you might not be around to watch my next video.”

Me : “You are right no need to risk it”

After making the video we head out to compare the cameras of both phones outside .Meanwhile Jerome passes us by but stops….

Jerome :”Lil dudes from across the street, lemme hold a dollar”

we gave him a dollar each but for some bad luck he sees my iphone but Jerry manages to hide his well .

Jerome:”Lil dude, lemmi hold the iphone”

Me : “Cmon man my mom is going to kill me” tried to run but fell dropping the iphone into the nearby city’s drainage system .

Jerome:”Good luck finding the iphone again bye lil dudes” .

Jerome goes his way .

Jerry :”Are you ok man?”

Me:..”???”

And that’s the story of how I lost my new Iphone.

my xcover 4 is a bit over 5 years old
thanks to the cover and screen protector it still is like new underneath so….not sure when I get a new phone, but I do know that it will be a samsung xcover, no iPhone can survive abuse like the xcover can handle

Im using an iPhone XS, normally I swap them out when the warranty runs out at two years but this one ive held onto a little longer, the battery is next to useless and im charging it twice a day.l, the iPhone 13 seems like a decent upgrade from the XS which is nice.

Im interested in the usbc for iphones, everything else Apple makes is usbc now, interesting the phones still are not. It amuses me that some youtubers think Apple will dongle it.
