i never take mac and windows tests seriously. since, both uses diffrent architecture in there os. macos’ is much more efficient than windows’ in some department and vise versa for some other department. for me i work and do some heavy gaming and some time video editing as well, so windows is no brainer for me here. if you do only work than mac is better option overall.
wow
9:42 Let me add without links to the benchmarks then. I really am impressed with M2 performance in GPU in here. I really am interested in performance comparisons you do. Though I must point that although MSI in here performs at 120 fps, the highest score for 3080Ti notebook in this benchmark is 188.49 fps. I’d post a link but it might get removed. You can find it on 3dmark site. Hard to tell why MSI is underperforming so much here. Also I’m interested to see the battle of M2 Ultra with desktops. A score for Apple to beat is 644.28 fps (4090 watercooled). Also interested in laptop versions of 40×0 series GPU performance, it’s not out yet. In desktop the performance have doubled (3090 vs 4090) keeping the power consumption at the same level.
If only more games and software I use for work worked natively with Mac….
Iv entered your giveaway and I really hope I win. All love to everyone even If I don’t win. Looking forward to the winning announcement
No doubt Apple Silicon have the best performance and efficiency, but it annoys me the fact that all the components are soldered on the same PCB, that means if I need to replace a simple faulty ssd it’s not possible by myself and could result to spend a lot of money.
Max, I follow you for a while you’re a good content creator but isn’t it a lil bit bad comparison that you’re comparing like Apple compares their product. We have rtx 4090 and 7950xtx yet you comparing with 3080ti that’s not fair.
Thanks for the guide! It’s helpful!
Until I owned a mac I didn’t notice the symmetry of them. It almost annoys me on my windows laptop once you see it you can’t unsee it
Too bad you still can’t really game on a Mac. Apple needs to build in a way to run pc games native on a mac. Like parallels but just for gaming, but made by Apple.
Nice improvement for M2 and waiting for a new one from the latest intel version
Great video 👍🏻
Most games aren’t made to run on Macs. The more cores on the m2 Mac’s won’t mean much when the games can’t take advantage of the cpu/gpu of the m2 pro
On blender it’s just crazy, that’s real life workload on battery!
I think your exploration of the fact that MSI has 3 separate vendors doing their own power management, thwarting your efforts to get best performance is pretty much the best comparison in this video. Not that Mac OS doesn’t haven its own annoying quirks, but it’s never as bad as that experience.
The battery/power usage comparison was good too.
let’s see a 13th gen i9 for comparison
doesn’t surprise me at all. Unless you’re mainly into gaming which I could give two shits about. buying anything Non Apple makes ZERO sense at all. I have a pretty maxed out 2018 Dell. 32GB RAM. Crazy SSD. My basic 2017 Mac Pro with 16GB RAM and a factory Apple SSD smokes it. Apps suck on windows as well. Why anyone would by a laptop that’s performance becomes pure shit on Battery power alone while then getting awful battery life is insanity in itself. On top of pure longevity and factory tech support
Wow
what’s the name if the temperature and fan app on the mac?
3DMark hasn’t been relevant in the PC gaming world for a couple of decades now. It doesn’t reflect real world performance at all.
This doesn’t make any sense to me, but there’s a Creator Z16P which is comparable to the M2 Pro and a CreatorPro Z16P which would be comparable to the M2 Max. The CreatorPro comes with a Quadro RTX A5500. The version with the 3080 was from almost 8 months ago and you can pick it up for a lot less than shown here with sales. I don’t use either, but am I missing something regarding this comparison? It doesn’t seem like an equal comparison.
