🎉😅 great video 👍 I am so glad you did “unplugged”. That was the first thing I thought 🤔 of when you started the tests. To me, if it has to be plugged in, it’s no different than a “desktop” ….it’s not a laptop 💻 LOL 😆 …The 13th gen chips will no doubt perform much better, but it doesn’t matter. They will still have to be plugged in, defeating the purpose of a laptop. The MBP has excellent performance, unplugged, and can keeping going all day!

The difference is that the Mac’s SSD is effectively running in RAID 0 mode. It has two SSD chips acting as one. If that MSI laptop, had two Seagate Firecuda 530 2TB or 4TB drives installed as RAID 0 in Windows, it would yes, likely overheat, but would scream… just put the laptop at an angle not to stifle the air intake for the fans. Many of those tests would work out very differently. Intel CPUs run way too hot and draw way too much power not just nVidia GPUs.

I think those Intel and NVidia components need a bigger chassis with more cooling. But still, I didn’t expect the absolute destruction we see here. Even in a larger chassis, I can’t imagine it would be close. The 13th gen processor will help (as will the 4000 series GPUs, eventually), but probably not dramatically. Thanks for the thorough real-world testing! As always, great job!

It’s a shame you mislead the users, the new Macbook Pro M2 MAX easily reaches 102-108 degrees heat as a result the battery drains very quickly, there is no magic here!
Working on a battery with Adobe’s software is simply killing the battery’s lifespan, it really doesn’t matter if it’s Intel or Apple. It is true that on a MacBook Pro the performance does not decrease during battery life, but it has a price and the price is the health of the battery. I have already read about users who lost battery life because they thought it was possible to work on a MacBook Pro without connecting to the power outlet in professional software.

What’s the point of testing a windows laptop that has to stay plugged in to even function. Thats not a laptop, it’s a badly specced, screen size compromised desktop. A waste of all those rear earth elements in the unusable battery. Why not just spend the money on a decent desktop that can deliver Intel/nvidias power budget.

Or maybe these tests should include the cost of a portable generator for Intel/nvidia based laptops for those times when you want to be mobile or work out on the deck by the pool. Imagine taking one to uni and having to spend all day next to a wall socket

Maybe for future tests you could also rate how flat the bottom of the case is for those who want to cook some eggs and toast while they wait for there task to finish. Typical Intel, rather than innovate and deliver something mind blowing, they just up the frequency and create more co2 (from the extra power generation required). Twice the power consumption for lees performance what a joke.
