This is interesting, even comparing to the 12th gen i9.
I’m looking forward for you guys to compare the M2 Max against 13th gen, especially HX series with 24 cores (8P+16E). 13th gen H series is more like just a clock speed bump.

The difference in power efficiency is still mind blowing. It’s just not even close. Apple is leagues ahead of Intel and NVIDIA. As impressive as the results are for the 16” MacBook Pro, its also crazy to me that you can get a 14” version that is every bit as fast as the 16” MacBook Pro tested in this video. Apple SIlicon is so power efficient that you don’t have to choose between performance and portability. The smaller size computer does both and still destroys nearly every windows laptop in terms of overall battery life and standby time.

The M2 laptops are insane for professional work, I will however not upgrade because of the compatibility issues with 3D CAD software and the very limited amount of games. These are the sole reasons preventing me to buy a high end Mac again, why apple does not put serious effort in this is beyond me.

I don’t know man, some of these test look a beat fake. I run cinebench R23 on my asus proart studiobook with the i7 12700h and it scored over 17000 points… more than the i9 of the same generation🧐🧐

In future they’ll bring 4nm or even 3nm with 40 cores , the most exciting part will be how that beats the NVIDIA in blender if it can , even waiting for m2 ultra with 76 cores to beat up the NVIDIA .

That raytracing performance is actually really good, considering the mac doesn’t have dedicated hardware. Yes the nvidia is twice as fast, but it’s still usable, if rendering isn’t your main profession.
