New design is nice but it’s 50% more expensive than M1 MBA (at least in Europe right now for the same RAM-storage configuration) for nice but not essential improvements.
Actually the M1 MBA 256GB has faster RAM which is important as it will use swap memory a lot when paired with 8GB RAM.

I don’t know. I love the direction towards ARM chips and M1 generation is great but we’re getting into truly overpriced territory again with small performance improvements. I wish reviewers are harsher towards Apple.

I only use laptops for browsing, and my M1 Macbook Air is perfect for that. Before this I had a Xps 13 9350 and that got so hot with use it was not fun to use at times.

I’d hope they’d do a MacBook with an OLED touch display that is 120hz. That’d be game over for most laptops especially paired with the M3 processor it’d come with.

It’s great that Lisa doesn’t get on the other youtubers’ bandwagon of criticism towards the “slower” disk on the 256gigs model or the fact that it trotthles after several minutes of high load. These are non issues for the vast majority of potential buyers, anyway. It’s so frustrating to see other Youtubers like Dave2D creating these controversy points only to then say they’re not that big of a deal…

The main competition is the M1 MacBook Air 512GB at $1100. $400 cheaper for 10% less performance. Lenovo ThinkBook 13S Gen 4 AMD is even cheaper and comes with double the RAM and upgradable storage while being equally fast CPU and GPU

Sadly a merge of iPad and MacBook is impossible when iPad sells like hotcake. If Apple makes MacBook touch screen and supports pencil, it will hurt iPad sales like mad.
