I am personally using the 12.9 2018 model in unison with my M1 MacBook Air As I love using the extended desktop you get when using universial control as It enables me to fully utilise the touchscreen and Apple pencil on the iPad while using the keyboard and trackpad on the Macbook for writing.

Thank you, it has been over 7 years since I bought my last laptop and the market is full of misleading information. Thermal this nan chip that. For a person who is looking for a dependable high end computer you hit all the points I need to know and left out the clickbait filler. All while hinting at since apple formats things more efficiently you might not need extra ram or 108° is not as hot as every small high end windows laptop out there. People over hype the small things and forget that regular people are not making 8k full length films with a MacBook Air. I’m super glad I found your video on this and again appreciate your accurate description and real world review

$2749 CDN for the cheapy version with 16GB RAM and 2TB SSD. Plus 12% tax = $3078. Not cheap.

Good review. Apple delivered an excellent laptop but this isn’t the “no-brainer” the M1 was. More performant than M1 but higher price – That’s fair. But is it enough to cause an M1 MBA owner to upgrade? For me, no. Don’t worry Apple. Plenty will…
