FCP keeps crashing for me and I get error messages when attempting to transfer files from the SD card from my camera

After a day, I am not a fan. Sure the screen is amazing but the keyboard is not quality (making cheap noise) it’s thick looking laptop. Apple should have kept the old design.

I’ve had random issue where while watching videos it somehow manages to restart itself while still playing the sound. The computer thinks all applications are closed so you have to restart the computer to clear the issue

I got laughed at doing this, but I ordered a set of rubber port covers for the ports on my 14 inch. They’ve worked great and I don’t accidentally stick things where they do not belong.

To increase the sound quality on the already fantastic speakers (this is coming from someone who went from the 2012 mbp straight to the 2021 mbp), I installed boom 3d. makes a hell of a difference.

Other than that everything else is great!

My M1Pro MacBook Pro 14“ just crushed my external 1tB laCie SSD. Editing the Containers in ASFP or and other formate is not possible any more, I also can‘t just delete everything and there‘s now a 600GB big container on the disk which seems to be damaged because I can‘t acsess it… and also can’t delete or edit it🥴

i just bought the 16inch macbook pro and i guess it is too early to say what I like or dislike. but one thing is really annoing! the battery wont last even half a day!!! and only thing I do with it is to connect it to another monitor and use chrome remote desktop for work. That’s it! all of high demand programs are actually on my work pc. to be honest I am disapointed.

“It lasts 3 or 4 days”….come on man…be real here. I have the same 14” model for 3 days now and I’m angry to see that it only gives me 5-6 hours of continuous light usage (browsing, music and videos).

Another issue on my particular unit is the super slow speed of the SD card reader. I mean, it takes Lightroom forever to generate thumbnails for my photos I’d like to import and the copying of mp4 footage from the SD card to the local SSD drive is super slow…my physical SD card reader is MUCH faster then this internal feature. Could it be a software bug or should I exchange this MacBook for another unit?

I just bought the new 14 inch with a slightly upgraded 10 core cpu and 16 core gpu (forgot the exact specs!!) and I can say that so far, its a solid computer. Battery life is night and day compared to my gaming laptop (about 17 hours vs 3 hours) , and this thing stays silent even when you use it on a blanket. From a windows user, apple is solid and very VERY few companies can create such an all around solid machine. For schoolwork this thing will be FAR more than what you need, and from what I can tell, editing is not a problem for this macbook pro either. The ONLY and i mean ONLY problem I have is that the entire laptop is a fingerprint magnet. Otherwise, if you have the means to buy a macbook, you wont go wrong buying one!
