I’m having speaker issues with my 2 week old 16″. Might return it and buy this plus the new iMac combo. Use the Air for casual use and iMac for anything intensive.

Have been using the macbook air early 2015 for around 5 years already. Really satisfied with the products performance, durability, light and have never gave me any problem until 2020. Been considering purchasing the new macbook air with newer processors and features, but it’s really not worth purchasing from my perspective.
The 10th gen that Apple used in this machine is a “Y”processor, good for light task but not for heavy duty task. That’s one of the main reason why I dislike it, but I didn’t want to judge Apple on putting this processor in the new air. It’s very expensive for having to spend 900 for the base model, but in return what you really get and pay for was the mac os system, portability, build and very beautifully design.
As a whole, Apple targeted this product for students, light users that didn’t really need a capable processors for heavier task. If you only need a computer for typing, web browsing, watching youtube videos than this will be a decent choice. Good battery life and portable as well.

Recently notice that the Macbook Air 2020 speakers sound way better than my new 2020 Razer Blade 15, some how it has more bass to it. Really appreciate the work that Apple putting on their Macbook’s speakers.

I’m new to MacBooks and purchased this one before realizing it doesn’t have a USB port and I actually need it. Does anyone know what I can do to work around this?

Just a question, I am a student studying social sciences. I use the program SPSS statistics and currently own a MacBook pro 2017, dual core i5 with 8 gigs of ram. I notice that the laptop gets very hot when I use SPSS for prolonged periods of time and when I have a lot of chrome tabs open next to it, many pages reload. I want to buy a laptop with 16 gigs of ram. I am not sure what I should buy for the next school year. Would the most specced out model air be a good choice? I read that many people are complaining about the fan noise and thermal throttling. The most specced out air would be 250 Euro’s cheaper than the MacBook pro 2020 with 16 gb of ram in my country.
