I upgraded from a 2014 MacBook Pro 13″ Dual-Core i5 and I LOVE this MacBook Air 2020! I choose the Quad-Core i5, 16GB of DDR4 RAM, and 256GB for storage. You can get student pricing ($100 off) if you go to the education section of Apple’s website, and although I am a student, they don’t really verify it in any way (you don’t need a .edu email like you did previously). Anyways, I am completely thrilled with this laptop. The keyboard is spectacular, it actually makes me want to type lol the screen is perfectly bright enough for my liking, the trackpad is unbelievably precise, I LOVE the inverted T directional keys, and I LOVE the physical row for function keys (I wasn’t fond of the Touch Bar at all). My only complaint about the new MacBook Air is the webcam. I’ll tell you now, it’s absolute garbage but I don’t ever turn my webcam on for lectures or anything and btw the microphone quality is superb! Speaker volume and audio clarity is a solid 10/10 imo and Touch ID makes it a breeze to never worry about passwords again. Apple absolutely improved this MacBook Air in every way, you won’t be disappointed if you get one. OH btw, I haven’t heard my fan come on once since I got it.

My work bought a whole pile of these a few months ago, replacing our older gen Macbook Airs. My biggest takeaways:

Pros: battery is great, display is great, keyboard is awesome.

Cons: It gets REALLY hot and fans are loud, and I’m not talking just when doing crazy intensive stuff like gaming. Video conferencing really gets the fans a whirring. The built in webcam is absolute garbage, quality is very sub-par to the point where we actually contacted an Apple rep to see if maybe our batch was defective. So basically, in the age of COVID where working remotely is the norm, this computer seriously fails at one crucial (and let’s face it, extremely common) aspect.

So in general, it’s a pretty good laptop but has some major flaws. If I had spent my own money on it I’d be returning it.

Please may i ask you one question!
If i use macbook air 2020 i3 in scenario as opened full hd video on safari youtube, and some other tabs like facebook etc.., mail, pages or office , and maybe some light app with it ….maybe netflix instead of youtube…. how much will it heat?? Would it burn my lap? Or make inconvenience in heat or noice aspects? That’s all my tasks for daily usage…
