My friend has the MacBook Air with butterfly keyboard. It really gets hot so fast even if we just make Facetime. It is enough for searching the internet or watching videos because of that gorgeous display. But it can’t do heavy tasks.

Zollotech, way too many people complaining about temperatures on YouTube so thank you for being honest. I haven’t been able to get questions answered, if anyone can help that would be great. I just purchased my very first MacBook. It’s the MacBook Air 2020 i3, I upgraded the RAM 16GB and memory to 512GB. Primary use will be managing my photo library, browsing, YouTube, typical college student type work, and making iMovies of my kids. A lot of people are saying this can’t handle editing movies, I’m just using iMovie nothing big like Final Cut Pro. Any thoughts?

Thanks v useful. I have a Mac Air 2020 i7. Very pleased with it. Keyboard is much better, speakers are great as is microphone. It’s perfectly fast enough for me and I’m hoping to keep it for some time. It gets warm under load, but no worse than other computers I’ve owned. Thanks for your review.

Can the new MacBook Air run any music production programs like ProTools or GarageBand? My unibody 2012 MacBook Pro is struggling very badly and I’m wondering if the MacBook Air is better than the unibody?

I always find people saying 100 degrees isn’t that much, it’s a lot (Mac’s seem to always run hot) but in comparison an engine in a car runs about 80-120c

i have a friend that has the base macbook air 2020 and when on a zoom call the fan is screaming what is pretty annoying since everyone can ear that. While my 2019 13 inch pro is 100% silent. Seems a good laptop for a student that doesnt need to do anything intensive. Great video
