The $100 gets you the i5 and the upgraded graphics over the i3.

I want to make something very clear as it seems people are being tricked. If you select the core i3 model you can upgrade for just £100, but if you select the i5 straight away it forces you to have 512GB of storage. This means that if you want the MacBook for only +£100 you have to start with the base model and work your way up from there, because you’re still able to get 256GB of storage and an i5 processor. 🙂

To sum up: reasonable refresh, poor overhaul. Instead of compact high-end laptop Air is sliding simply into MacBook SE.

1.3 kg for a Air product is lame marketing. Many good ultrabooks have moved into the < 1 kg territory. But hey, it has a Apple on the cover, please judge by the cover.

Could you do this vs the 2019 XPS 13? The 2020 XPS is a lot more expensive to spec it out similarly.

This laptop has overheating problems, it is great for short tasks, but anything that pushes it even a little bit…. the CPU will hit 100 degrees celsius and it is game over, the laptop will throttle to useless speeds. Look on youtube about it. Runs at 70 to 76 degrees celcius at iddle… so you can have an idea what temps will it hit when used.
