Not sure if you are going to like it. But, I am using Acer Swift 3 bought in Sept 2017. It came with i5-8250u (Quad-Core), 8 GB RAM , 256 GB SSD. Bought it for 790CAD + tax. Wonderful performance, very fast. Dual boot with Ubuntu .

It’s good but the sweet spot is the MacBook Pro 13 inch with four thunderbolt 3 and 256gb storage. You get a better colour accurate screen. Touch Bar. Dual fans. It’s faster. Cooler – and it’s not massively more expensive.

$1000 for this peice of crap. No thanks man a Windows laptop gives you much more ports and options for your money. Acer predator gaming laptops starts at $1000 and there is no comparison of that beast with this pile of garbage. Seriously all of Apple’s products are just plain garbage I don’t know why people even look at them. They say their devices are great for productivity but how can you be productive if you have to buy dongles just for a few more usb ports. Please don’t even consider an Apple product they are the worst in the world. Even Chinese companies are better than Apple. I currently have a Dell Alienware 17 51m and it can do stuffs that MacBook can only dream of. I mean look at the no. of ports it has and the best part is you can even upgrade this laptop and it has no weird keyboard or thermal issues. Yes its more expensive than the MacBook air but even at the same price a Windows laptop will let you upgrade it give you more ports and way better graphics and gaming performance. Apple products are for people who understand nothing of technology and just want a showpiece which practically do nothing other than looking pretty.
