Nice, this is my favourite kind of 9to5Mac videos… the ones concerning gaming with egpu’s 😋
Only.. why do I have to turn that egpu off and on again? My 2018 macbook pro 15″ works perfectly as long as it stays connected at boot and also only drives my external display. Everything other results in bluescreens. No hotplugging. Not even anything on the other usb ports.
What’s the difference here?

surprised you can game on these, as the CPU is only around 50% higher than a macbook 2015 according to geekbench.

I can see how an eGPU is useful for somebody who needs a laptop but wants to have a desktop experience at home, but tbh, nobody who wants to play games on a laptop should be purchasing any Mac. Just get a nice windows laptop that will have more performance, and a better value. Also, nobody should be playing games on a 5K2K display, get a higher refresh rate display instead of a higher resolution.

just get an xbox one x problem solved very easy. if u want video editing go get an imac pro for that. need gaming then get an xbox or ps4.
