Thanks for the video. I see a lot of people compalining that you didn’t play Fortnite or some other more resource-intensive game. I’d say I agree. However, you showed how poorly Rocket League played without the eGPU and then how well it played with it. So it surely shows a huge improvement, regardless.
As for me, I don’t play games. I have a 2018 MBP, and am looking for an RTX 2080 (or ti) for 3D texturing/rendering, such as Mari and Substance Painter.
I guess OS Catalina wouldn’t be an issue, since I don’t plan to use the eGPU on MacOS at all. The only question would be if I’ll lose some benefits by having to use a dongle to connect my Cinema Display monitor.
What if I want to run an AMD eGPU with MacBooks that has AMD dedicated GPU? For example 15” MacBook Pro 2018 running Boot Camp with Vega 64 eGPU. The process will be different and much more difficult, can you show us how?
Does Windows also run nvidia cards on a MacBook? Because normally you can Just run AMD cards on Mac. Or did you use a Script? But it doesnt look like this
I HAVE A 2014 i7 macbook air 8gb ram, 256 gb ssd, it only have one thunderbolt slot, but I can upgrade the SSD.
Bigger question is how did he use Windows on MacBook air
Damn, i did everything exactly as you did with the RTX 2080 TI in the same Razer EGPU housing on a 2018 Macbook Pro, went swimmingly until I tried to connect the gpu to an LG display, only got sound and no picture, then after another restart got Error 43 in Device Manager, now it won’t recognize the Nvidia Gpu…
My Windows 10 (Macbook) can’t seem to be able to detect my TV via thunderbolt, how the hell did it work out for you?
does it work with Catalina? and does it work with VR headsets in Windows?
So a already overpriced dual core processor laptop and on top of that an expensive SSd, eGPU with RTX 2080 and a legal copy of Windows… $$$$$$$$
How are you able to close your macbook and still access the PC. Can’t figure out how to fix that issue. Also my screen keeps going black.
Do you have to use an external display? Can i just plug the egpu directly into the macbook?
2080ti for rocket league????????? 😀 🙂
I am thinking about getting my daughter a MacBook Air for her school work. I know she would to get into pc gaming. Might do this until I get a separate tower
Guy’s i’ve a problem.
mac air 18
rx vega 64+core x
and bootcamp
Soup is good but my fuckin’ windows didn’t see gpu.
i did bootcampdriver solution step by step.
🙁
sad story.
So I have the Radeon Pro Vega 64 in my iMac. If I were to get a RTX 2080 in an eGPU and run in Bootcamp, would it be like running them in SLI, or would it completely ignore the Vega and think I only have the RTX?
Heya…am not able to setup my egpu, sonnet egfx breakaway box running a rx580 8GB graphics card, on a bootcamp win10. Although am having the same MacBook Air model (2018). In device manager, it is showing ‘error 12- cannot find enough resources that it can use’ . Pls make a tutorial video to show how it can be fixed. Thank you.
Could get a real PC with all those spending, over 1k for those just wow
“I paid 1500 bucks in egpu components to play rocket league.” Said no one EVER.
I know you testing things out for peeps and thank you for that.
I used this eGPU with an rx 5700 xt, and my FPS only increased by about 20. While eGPUs are great, it’s just not worth it with a 2 core 1.6hgz CPU weighing it down
Why are you running Windows boot camp instead of macOS? Can you make a tutorial for how to do this on MacOS with an AMD graphics card?
