Sack Jony Ive there has been no groundbreaking design for ages. Move Cook back to middle management as he isn’t a leader.
Then we may start to be wowed again.
Lisa Gade is simply the greatest for tech reviews, anywhere really. Baseline MBP or MBA with 16 gb ram, what would be better performance wise for someone manly using a laptop for larger excel sheets and R studio?
the 2018 macook air is a rip because the processor is a y series and still low storage
Too expensive. If you took the parts you could build this for less than 500$. Add development ads and stuff IT SHOULDN’T be more than 800$. Thats with a screen of the same brightness.
Can you review the Lenovo Ideapad 730s ?
I can’t choose between the new Macbook Air 2018 (with the 3rd gen butterfly keyboard) and the 2017 Macbook Pro without touch bar model (which has a 2nd gen butterfly keyboard) with all those issues with the keyboard. I currently have a 2011 Macbook Pro which is I think nearing its death so I’m thinking of upgrading soon. I use my laptop a lot for writing and typing and I’m scared that the keyboard would go berserk while I’m using either the new Macbook Air or Macbook Pro. BUT I love the MacOS. I’ve been using MacOS ever since. I’m thinking about switching to a surface laptop (?) or a Dell XPS 13 but… just thinking of using Windows, I’m not comfortable with it (maybe because I’m not really used to it). Please help, I need advice!
Good review very expensive product – I wonder if Apple will ever make a product that is affordable? … don’t say the USD 329 iPad, that is close to affordable but I already have a windows tablet and don’t need iOS. At least with a windows tablet I can use a trackpad and keyboard or a mouse and keyboard. iOS really needs to be changes to support pointing devices.
Great review
air at price of MBP is hard to justify…
I’m really interested in buying this macbook, but my only concern is the display, in the real world is the brightness that bad? I’m a teacher so my use is focused on Word processing and Powerpoint presentations. I also like to browse the web and watch a lot of films, series, anime and youtube in my free time. Will I be missing something with this macbook?
Give me ur old one u have lol 😭😭
Did you see the black Friday “special offer” MacBook Air model? it offers the core i7 rather than the i5. only 8G and 512GB though Thoughts?
Apple product line is a heck of a mess
Jonathan Morrison just unfriended you, Lisa! 🙂
Immediately after this was announced I bought a 12 inch Macbook. Since they updated the Gold color without touching the specs that makes me think Apple isnt updating the 12 this year, and I’ve always wanted one. Was just really hoping that what ended up being the Macbook Air would have been actually cheaper @ 256 GB, or closer in size and weight to the 12 than the nTB Pro 🙁
I have a USB-C dock for the Macbook 12 capable of driving a 3440 x 1440 ultrawide at 100 Hz and couldnt be happier!
Stockholm syndrome for keyboards LOL 😂
So, should I buy the pro w/o touchbar or the air?
Apple might forget that when his products come to my country, they cost much more than they are in America because of taxes and retailers’profits. I have been waiting for the base model Macbook Air 2018 going with the same price as the previous version but it’s so upset that it is very expensive. Its price is roughly the same as the base model Macbook Pro 2017 which is being sold for 1600USD or so. I’ll buy Dell instead for sure.
Lisa, your reviews are by far the most informative, thorough, and straight to the point I’ve seen to date! Keep up the great work! 👍
Dave 2D’s and Lisa’s are the only laptop reviews that you need…
