What this means is…..Your paying for performance but not getting it…..Sorry folks blame Tim Cook the accountant.
I would crowdfund a tech company to manufacture a roomier air-ported clamshell base replacement to reduce thermal throttling. Why hasn’t anyone done this?
For that kind of money it should be able to boost to the max without any issues even though it is thin and stylish 😀
I’m confused. For the core i9, if you run the Mac fan app does it become normal and if yes, how should I configure the fans
For that price i would rather get a Dell XPS 13″ for $1000 less 😃
The Radeon RX 555x is about on par with a GeForce mx150 GPU in terms of non-production peformance – that GPU is found in $600 Windows laptops. It’s all a bit much, tbh
love your videos…. a lot of good information.
“Little condoms”. “If you can afford it, take me out to dinner”.lol
Really the best, most comprehensive reviews! Thanks!
Best review!!! Awesome video!
Apple milking its sheep…
As always – Amazing review, Lisa! Exactly the insights, tests and comparisons I was looking for! Thank you!
You have the most objective reviews ! You’re the best :p
Cheers for this Lisa. Are you looking to review more gaming stuff in the future? Cant remember if you’ve done stuff in the past on PS4 Pro or Xbox One X etc
Apple – for those who have more money than sense.
Wonderful review as always. I bought the 2.6 GHz base model. The only problem with upping the fan speed is the noise increase when recording voiceovers in Final Cut Pro X. A decent condenser mic will pick it up, so I prefer live with it getting warm with a bit of throttling.
12:00 -The i7-7820HK has 4 cores, not 6 cores.
-Increased fan speed should decrease the temperature of the bottom of the laptop or stay the same if clocks increase as a result.
-Is it possible to decrease vCore of the CPU like you can on PCs?
Regardless, stupid move by Apple. Same thing with the i9 in the Asus Zenbook Pro 15″. 8850h nor i9 belong in a quiet 4 pound laptop.
Soooo….
– no removable SSD
– still shitty butterfly keyboard
– cpu is throttling
– useless Touch Bar
– absurd price-tag
No, thanks.
HP ZBook Studio and closely related ZBook Studio x360 both have 4TB SSD option.
my 2013 macbook pro will be my last mac.
Thanks for the review.
