I like your music intro and also the background music in 00:45. I have switched to Mac in 2009 with the first unibody 15 Macbook Pro, it has been with me for 6 years. And I like it very much but it cannot handle heavy photo and video editing now. I just bought this new 15 Macbook pro two weeks ago, works great. I guess a lot guys are waiting for their so called redesign macbook pro next year, I suggest go for this one if you really need a machine for your work. It is not a portable laptop for life, but it will rock your work. Speaking of heat and fan noise, it won’t catch macbook air (2013), but again it’s 15 inch with high specs.

I can’t tell you how useful your videos are, Dave. Really high quality, understandable, and to the point. You are one of the few reviewers that actually points out the fan noise, which any laptop user would know can be very important!

I’m looking to get either a 15 inch 2015 macbook pro or a 2015 razer blade. I’m becoming an engineering student and will only moderately play games and some video editing with premier pro. Which one should I go with? Also if I go with the mac should I get the base 15 inch model or the graphics card dependent one? Thanks 😀

My 15″ has a really creaky bottom, as you said it feels like you put a lot of pressure on just lifting it. Do you find it creaky too? Kind of annoying, not something any other review touched on. There’s also sometimes a click after I let go of it, like the glue on the battery isn’t completely attached or something. For about 2600 dollars after tax in Canada, I didn’t expect that stuff.

I used to somewhat respect Apples “up to” performance claims, if they claimed 100 I’d assume something like 80 average and be content, but claiming 80% gaming performance gain and getting 10-15 is just misleading.

Hi Dave, I’m in a dilemma between this 2015 Macbook Pro 15″ (AMD Graphics) and 2014 Razer Blade (QHD+). I’m planning to buy a laptop for university (mech engineering). The Pro is selling for SGD 3300 while the 2014 razer is going for SGD 2300 (since it’s an old model). I’m looking for a laptop with good screen to watch shows and movies, able to run my uni apps such as auto cad and also do a bit of gaming when I’m bored. Which one should I get?

Thank you for this review. I just purchased a 2014 MBP with the 750M with apple care +, free mouse and free CD/DVD drive for $2000 while buying the 2015 version alone would have been $500 more without the extras.
I was hesitant due to it being a 2014 but from the research I did I felt confident I’d be happy with it as soon as I started using it.
Sorry this was long message but really this video just made me feel better about it and I’m glad I pulled the trigger. Good work man I appreciate what you did.
