Still use mine now – more than happy running older software on it and thanks to the 500gb SSD and 16gb Ram it still runs fast – love it lots….
Watching this in my late 2011 13″ MacBook Pro. It’s still working pretty well and I am using this as my main laptop for my Virtual Assistant job
I got a 15″ 2015 MacBook Pro a couple of months ago for $350 with a tired battery. Mine is a top tier spec with the 2.8 Ghz i7 and dedicated graphics w/ 16 GB ram. After replacing the battery, ditching MacOS and installing Manjaro Linux, it’s safe to say it’s one of the best decisions I’ve made in the past few years. With enough love and patience these machines can age like fine wine. The screen is still so much better than most mid-range Windows laptops these days (especially around the price I paid for my unit) the keyboard is much better than the butterfly keyboard, and battery life isn’t an issue from replacing the old one and running a lighter OS. If you’re willing to give Linux a try and aren’t afraid to get your hands dirty, these older machines can be fantastic daily drivers.
I have a 2015 pro. Only thing wrong with it at this point in 2023 is it now tops out at OS Monterey. The touch pad has also become hard to press, and I seem to need to give it a firm press, more so than when it was new. I don’t feel I need a pro, will probably take a look at the AIR.
I’m finally letting go of my mid 2011 MacBook Pro and getting a 2015 model. I once borrowed one from a friend to edit and I found it held its own very well.
It’s still worth it in 2023.
I daily drive a 15″ 2015 macbook pro and it has no problems, a little slow and the battery only lasts a few hours but everything else still works perfectly.
I have been using this macbook since mid 2016 and it has been a powerhouse for a long time. This laptop is the sole reason why I refuse to purchase another laptop despite my current needing to upgrade my SSD and replace the battery (as others have mentioned, the battery will degrade and it will severely impact your experience).
The features you get from a macbook are great, the hardware is great, but none of that matters to me when I consider this next point; this laptop can take a beating and has even survived 3 full cup spills. I was feeling a bit discouraged from fixing this laptop and considered buying a new one, but I have realized with the help of this video that there is still treasure within my trash.
Upgrade the ram and put a SSD in it. It should make video editing much more snappy
I still use it in 2023 as a pro graphic/video designer
My screen just started flickering! I program on it and a little bit of photoshop, it has been my favorite laptop ever
That cam and mic beats most windows laptops still
Still use my A1502. Works like on day one. Just upgraded the ssd to 1TB. This thing is worth every penny.
I created my entire YouTube career on a 2015 MacBook pro and I used it up until 2023. This is an amazing computer but unfortunately mine majorly slowed down and made editing with premiere very difficult
Very good review
6-8 hours? I run one of these I got for £150 and fixed up with a new battery and drive, along with my thinkpad, and compared to the thinkpad, 6-8 hours is godly. Though I do all intensive tasks on my custom built pc, so I don’t drain it fast.
Hi there, I was thinking of buying this laptop for music production and I was wondering whether you would be able to connect a guitar into the laptop. Thank you!
im confused with your opinion i heard yes but no its good but its no good its great but wont recommended it was a mix of emotions mad traumatizing
$700?? I bought what appears to be a brand new 13″ early 2015 macbook pro i5 2.7ghz 16GB ram on backmarket more than a year ago for $265. I also grabbed a 21.5″ Acer SB220Q for 1080p gaming and can play the most demanding games flawlessly with my Frontier Fiber optic internet. I guess I just know when to purchase lol idk cause I got a iPhone 11 Pro 256gb in gold for $335 maybe 5-6 months ago, and the same one sells for $411 now.
If you’re looking for a backup laptop & you’re nor a creative professional, it works just fine & will still perform about 90-95% of your tasks. It would be good to upgrade the RAM & SSD to maximize performance.
I just bought a second MB pro 2015 13 inch for 200 EUR in very clean condition…I just replace the battery and added a 1tb ssd…
