I had this laptop but gave it to a friend and it still runs. I know have a Macbook Air M2 and the performance is night and day, the battery life on these silicon chips are way more efficient. However I will say this having a glowing Macbook logo is still one of the coolest designs apple should have kept.
it is like driving an old American classic car – you aren’t the fastest, and you aren’t the most comfortable, but you’re still feeling cool and happy. It’s just the Apple magic 🙂
I love this laptop.
It is fast, compact unlike my old laptop and I love the trackpad. It is impressive that you can use it.
I have one of these. It’s pretty maxed out across the board. I’m a tv commercial director of photography so I use high end cinema cameras. This definitely struggles to do any meanful editing compared to todays machines, however these are super super solid for your basic everyday task or music production maybe. They’re solid for photo editing too. Nice highlight!
Thank you for your help! It works perfectly!
700 USD in 2022 is pretty expensive, you can buy MacBook Air with M1 and it will run circles around your machine.
3:33 that’s not overexposed at all, it’s just bad dynamic range
bro please tell me the shrek parkour game you were playing at 6.50
What’s funny is that a lot of the form factor design and weight, the new ones actually are quite similar. (Saying this as I own the 2012, 2015 and the new second gen M1 14″).
I still use my 2015 MBP 13″.I really love this.I bought MBP 16 ” M1 pro chip , 1 TB 2021 and after used that 3 weeks I decided return and come back to my old 2015 MBP …This one still great in many ways…
short answer, yes. i use one as a backup machine/apple machine. i take it on trips so i dont have to lug my gaming laptop. i edit audio on it and it works great
should i change battery , it last for 90 minutes on wifi
I love your channel because it’s a reality check on how useful older tech is in modern times.
I’m still using my Macbook Pro 13-inch Retina (the exact same one as in this video, just a year older) almost every single day. I’m using it for light-work, such as typing documents and working for Facebook pages. It’s almost 9 years old now and the battery is still very good. The only sad story that I’ve had with this machine is that it had a major screen problem, for which I was just too late to have it fixed for free. You must have seen this with other people, when you turn off the screen it looks like parts of the screen were burned-in. I’ve fixed this (kid you not) by rubbing Listerine mouthwash on top of for about two hours. This way you rub off the anti-glare, and now the screen is fine (only have more difficulties with sun reflection).
i have a macbook pro 2015 i7 and its a banger
I have a Mid-2014 15.4 Inch Macbook Pro that is still running strong to this day. It is not as snappy as the M2 that I just got, but I feel I could have kept using it for another 2-3 years if I hadn’t gotten into an accident that bent the chassis. 8-9 years of service is insane for a laptop, I am usually happy if I get 5-6 without severely degraded performance.
The 13″ was never “Pro” in my opinion
I just picked up a used 2015 pro for 400 bucks and it is amazing for someone who has never owned a Mac definitely worth buying one used. the battery only had just over 100 cycles so its like hardly depleted its original capacity. plus I like having all the ports and not needing annoying adaptors for plugging in my audio interface.
Ngl IMO if you have 16GB of ram, some external ssds and Opencore it can be a amazing deal.
I think you paid a lot for it. You could get a new MacBook Air M1 for $900, and you paid $700 for this. With that you will get warrenty, new softwear, much better battery life, better display, and much much more portable. For $200 i think you are giving up a lot.
