We use this type of financing in car sales. Its called PCP [ Personal Contact Purchase ] very popular.

I’m not from US, so this video is pointless to me, but to be honest, my first macOS device probably would have more than 8GB RAM. Even though this amount RAM might be alright for now, I’m pretty sure Apple will take care to make it a nightmare for you thanks to updates, as it does with with iPhones & iPads.

It’s not just 20 bucks a month unfortunately most people won’t qualify for the 0 percent interest, but still a cool idea, if you want a new laptop every 3 years

It’s a lease not really financing. The problem is people will forget what there supposed to do at 36 months. It’s good if it’s explained & the customer remembers.

Every M1 macbook review I’ve seen is just like “it’s an amazing system to surf the web, do office work, etc”

I don’t want to pay $800+ to surf the web smh, nobody talks about rendering videos, music software, programming, etc

I know they probably can’t handle games but the heavy productivity stuff is what I want to see tested

Legit this is the only reason keeping me from getting one

The real catch is you won’t own it but will be very happy. Not owning probably means you give away more privacy to get that nice 20$ price. And still won’t be able to repair it locally at reasonable price

Nice episode but y’all should have read the Best Buy fine print a bit closer – that 0% financing is for folks who have really good credit (possibly the folks who would be better off just buying that MacBook on sale rather than financing at full price). Looks like Citizens Pay will charge up to 29.99% interest for folks with not very good credit (the folks who would see $20-$30 a month for 3 years as the only way they can afford a $1,000 laptop but realistically can’t/shouldn’t put another $1,300 hole in their credit report).

The problem with that is the interest people with not the best credit might pay another $700. However they hide it in the contract so it don’t look that bad for you.

Just miss one payment and you’ll get a high APR and stacked up fees. That’s how citizens pay ( the company that is financing this micro loan ) is making money off you

Rumor has it that they would rather go portless on their iPhone than to use USB c in their phones. This is Apple, they think you can’t fix your device that you paid for. Austin, you and every other tech YouTubers are bound and determined to not hold Apple accountable for the horrible business practices. There contempt for customers is stunningly full of shit.
