I must say, when a lot of Youtubers hyped the 16 inch I didn’t believe them. I went out and bought one as I needed an upgrade and… Well, they definitely weren’t just hyping it up, it really is that good.
Such a cool channel. Hope it’ll grow quickly!
Can I just say, that thumbnail has you looking buff sir
I agree, with carbon fiber as material it would be way lighter. And still solid enough. Like Lenovo ThinkPad Carbon notebooks.
General MBP question for anyone; have the ProMotion issues been fixed in MacOS/Safari?
As a long time subscriber I know how your current office setup evolved, but I can’t help but wonder: If you had it to do over would you have the video editing power in your desktop, like the base Studio Max rather than the Mini, and the portability and battery life in your laptop, like the base MacBook Air rather than the MBP Pro Max?
You are a great guy, Mark. Will be supporting Ukraine. ❤️
Who’s tempted by the M1 Max (or lower) 16-inch MacBook Pro, then?
Your voice is amazing.
The MacBook Pro is definitely a purchase for a longer period of time and its performance is insane.
I now own a Mac Studio and after a week I am completely flashed. The device will definitely be with me for the next few years. I have always used Macs and MacBooks for more than 5 years.
Just donated another small chunk of change to the Ukrainian military via that link provided by Mark. I’m sure most of us here do not agree politically on a lot of things. But I do think we would agree that Putin should be sent straight to hell.
Omg stop doing the same bloody videos
I have a gaming PC that outperforms the new Macbook Pros, BUT I tend to find myself getting distracted by all my monitors… That or my friends hitting me up on Discord wanting to game. I think it would be responsible to switch to a Macbook Pro away from my gaming setup. Plus, I will have something to do while I am travelling for work. The main reason for getting it is to start doing something with all my GoPro footage while riding my motorbike. I record at 4k, so I feel like the Pro chip with 32 GB of “Unified memory” with 2 TB should suffice. I like your realistic approach like Luke Miani. Keepin it real! 😎
I had the 16 inch Pro but found it unwieldy to carry around and it barely fit in my back pack. I ended up “downgrading” to the 14 inch Pro. While the speakers and the gorgeous display on the 16 inch Pro were a big pull for me, I love my 14 inch version nearly as much. I will say the battery on the 16 inch model seemed to last forever. Great video! (And even better thumbnail 😉)
The Final cut re-draw is realllllllllly annoying! I’m with you on that!
I have had the 14” MacBook Pro for about 3 months and my studio display for about 3 weeks. It’s a fantastic setup and the 14” pro is easily my favorite computer ever. Not just my favorite laptop, but my favorite computer. It just has no real downsides. It’s a phenomenal laptop and also one of the fastest desktops I’ve ever used while it is docked.
Great stuff! Good review! Thank you, Mark! I am using several Mac Paw products for many years. Love them! Support them. Cheers from Moscow.
Do you wish your macbook was silver now to match the studio display?
Ok I thought that was just me with the waveforms. I am literally editing a video while watching this and you made me say “EUREKA!”
Hi Mark, thank you for the review. I’m going back and forth on what I want to buy. I was interested in the M1 iMac for the screen but still want a laptop so was thinking either a 14/16 MacBook M1 Pro and pairing with the Studio Display, or just the 16 inch on it’s own.
I’m one of those people that don’t seem to notice promotion (have it on 10.5 iPad Pro), but worried about colour. I compared the screens of my iPhone 11 with a 12 Pro Max and noticed the same photos on both had much better colour on the 12 Pro Max, iPhone 11 looked a bit washed out. Will I get that same sort of difference with the Studio Display compared to the new 14/16 MacBook Pro’s since they lack HDR? or do the screens looks fairly similar except for the deep blacks and sometimes bright areas for HDR?
It’s an expensive monitor and very hard to know if it’s the right choice for me when checking reviews. I’m aware anything will be an upgrade to be fair since I’m currently using a 2015 13 inch MacBook Air with no monitor. Interested in your thoughts since you use both, thank you.
