Interesting comment about sound quality. 6 speakers should help produce better sound. The audio hardware, d to a converter(s) and amplifiers also impact sound reproduction. Many laptops have very poor sound hardware. I run digital audio workstation software on laptops and sometimes I have use and external D to A converters to reach a pro standard of sound quality. HP use B & O sound hardware with 6 speakers in their Elitebooks. It is far better than some other brand name laptops.
I was waiting for your review, thanks Lisa.
Mine’s already on the way, your review confirms it’s a great choice
96-97° CPU temp….call me old school, but that’s higher than I’m comfortable with for a premium device…especially with an expensive battery inside. I wonder how hot the battery get and if this device can be expected to have a 4-5yr lifetime. These devices are too expensive to replace every 2-3yrs.
*pro means safety.* a random chip goes bad, so does your welded on motherboard data. even with frequent backups, this is a serious no go.
they don’t go 4K to advertise longer battery and help the gpu stand out.
416 nits?!?!?!?! Apple WTF
Glad to see some de-“Jony Ive”-ing going on. Still think he was insane for thinking that a laptop with a bunch of dongles hanging off of it was “more elegant” than one with ports built into it (especially for something labeled “pro”). in 2019 how many TVs now have an HDMI port? ALL of them. How many SLRs use SD cards… MOST of them. How many USB devices that people still use on a regular basis are type A? MOST of them.
greatest laptop reviewer of all time
The next step is going back to actual I/O like the 2015 one
And of course better thermals and would be perfect for a MacBook
Wow! Lisa always wears great shirts, but this is the best one yet!
Thank you! I’ve been waiting for this
By the way, what’s the safest way to control and give more punch to the fans?
I have a 2017 MBP and have wanting a long time to do it….
Awesome video, as usual. Thank you. My 2011 MacBook Pro 17″ is fading out, and would cost $3K to refurbish. Now, that money will go to good use! I travel to film live events for my YouTube, need to process & upload while on the road. ✌
I would love a comparison video between this and the ThinkPad x1 extreme.
Fantastic review as always!! Very excited to see Apple has listened to us (in someways) the graphics card advancements are amazing! Bootcamp into Windows and you definitely can do a little gaming. Keep up the great work
That comment regarding the 16″ MBP being not as Jonathan Ive-inspired, was not great.
This macbook has been in development FOR A WHILE. Jony Ive left Apple over the summer.
Development takes time.
Therefore, Jony must have been in on the development.
8:37 😉
I was wondering if boot camp is supported by this new MacBook
It bugs me that this display is listed at 500 Nits and it only hits 416…
