i have the mac air m1 more than good enough for me. i would have like it to have a bigger screen but otherwise i think its the best deal for a non pro.

I decided to go with the pro. The 14 inches is a nice middle point in size regardless of the fact they have very similar weight. The display on the pro is incredible.

We waited for the first reviews of the 15″ then ordered a 14″ Pro which arrived yesterday. Very happy with the 14″ Pro, this is our first M2 version but we have 2 14″ M1 base models which have been amazing (I have 4 sons, converting them one at a time to Tim’s walled garden).

Smart decision is to wait for the M3 and then go all in. Can also choose an 800 Air M1 to use for the waiting period and then sell it out.

If value is the goal, used/refurb m1 products (no matter the model) will be the better buy. But not every time is it about value, but rather feel in the hands, lightness, design, etc.

If you really want the look/feel and size of the 15in air, then there isn’t a comparison. The 14in mbp just isn’t the same type of product.

But if value and performance is more important than aesthetics and weight, just look up refurbished or used macs and ignore the 15” air entirely.

Did you guys already do a video comparing the M2 15” Air to the M1 16” Pro? If you can, that would be really appreciated! I bought the 1 TB, 16 GB RAM M1 Pro in the Fall, in part, because all the other screens were too small. Now I’m considering if I should trade it for a M2 15” Air instead.

the issue is clearly apple needs to discount the upgrade air. people will still like it because of its size. ive been the the apple store and compared but the equipment is way better on the 14″ which is stupid.

Yes, do a thermal mod video. I am using an external fan (laptop cooling pad) with an older PC laptop with a failed fan, and am planning to get either the 15″ air or the pro soon. Curious about the differences in performance, since my budget is tight for a few months.
