People who want the cheaper option will always go for the 15″ MacBook Air because it starts at $1300. It’s not there to compete with the 14″ Pro. You are switching around upgrades to make an invalid point.
Do you thing 1TB is overkill? My iPhone is 512 and only have 50% filled up with years of photos. I just think I’m long overdue to upgrade my 2012 college MacBook, which has probably four ram and 256 storage. 😅
What did he use for the temperature test? I don’t see a FLIR attachment on his iPhone!?
Wrong. The 14 inch can hook up to 4 external displays
Thank you for this, very thorough and insightful.
Can you do a M1 pro 14″ comparison? Your Apple reviews are the best!
Man that ghosting on the 14 is ghastly fml (pun intended)
Every new apple product = “WHY THIS IS THE NEW WORST PRODUCT”
Still impatiently waiting for those detailed Mac Studio comparisons!
Im really trying to find a comparison of the new Air 15, to the 14 Pro M1… to see if the upgrade would hold…
College students can get MBA 15 16/512 for $1579 + $150 Apple Store card.
Please do a test using the software on the 14” MBP to increase the fan speed – lowering the temperature and compare the percentage difference of long work sessions to the 15” MBA
Does anyone know that the thermal camera app is that Max is using?
14 inch Pro all day cause of ProMotion plus extra ports.
Macbook pro 16 M1 PRO+512gb+16RAM vs Macbook air 15 M2+512gb+16RAM
Beauty + Screen Size > Performance 🙂
As much i would like the 15 inch screen, the fact that the MacBook Air does not support more than 1 external monitor is a deal breaker. I have the M1 MB Pro from 2021 and couldn’t be happier.
I think the more appropriate comparison is 15″ MBA vs 14″ M1 Pro Base MBP
It would be good to quickly mention in your performance videos (to bring to light to the Windows laptop users) that your test results are done on laptops running on battery, not plugged in to AC… that the test results don’t worsen when the laptop is unplugged.
I really don’t want an Apple PC with forced air cooling if it isn’t very easy and convenient to clean the fans, heat sinks, and ductwork. So if I need higher performance the Mini or Studio would be my choice. If I needed transportability then the MacBook Air is the best solution.
