I really loved the microphone in the 15″ and the sound was a bit better in the midrange I feel. My main gripe with the 15″ is what you get for the money. It is, for me, tough to justify the price. Not the price for the base model, but I would never buy that model myself. I understand, and respect, the people that buy it and the Starlight color is stunning.

I think the 14 inch machine
is the better offering from Apple. You can just do more on that. More ports. I think if you want a cheaper MacBook Pro, just grab the 13 inch M1 MacBook Pro. Its fast, and you get a fan. You only get 2 USB-C ports though on there.

It shouldn’t be this hard imo…
Are you using it for casual web browsing or editing documents or watching videos? Get the 13″ or 15″ Air.

Are you using it for programming? Get the 14″ MBP over the 15″ Air. Better processor speed means faster compilation and ideally get 16GB of ram.

Are you using it for video editing? Don’t think there’s an actual difference here, both of them aren’t going to be mind blowing in terms of speed but definitely would get the MBP for the SDXC card slot and slightly better GPU. Also the better display is gonna be better for video editing on the MBP.

Are you using it for gaming? Get off the weed and get a windows device.

If you really NEED the extra power of the MacBook Pro, get the 16″ with an M1 Max chip and 32 GB of RAM. Why even mess around with the small screen, small chassis, and crappy ergonomics of the 14″ model? I don’t believe there is such a thing as “needing slightly more performance.’ Either you NEED all the performance you can get … or you are compromising.

weird is that Air’s microphone quality seems better than the Pro’s even though the latter is advertised as “studio quality”! Can it be that the Macbook Pro that was tested is somehow faulty?

Lol. How is the MBP only getting 11K in Cinebench R23? The ROG Ally gets 14K. I’ve been saying the ROG Ally is a better desktop computer at $699 than a Mac Mini at $599, but it is actually closer to a the $1299 Mini than I thought. Note, this is not a comment for people who need laptops. You either need a laptop or you don’t.

Getting the entry Air, reason?getting it just as a secondary device as i already have a beefy pc back home.. and all the work im goin to do with it is with web based apps (figma, webflow,framer, etc) so it should be enough..

I can’t choose between 15″ MBA with 16GB and 16″ base m1 pro MBP for development. I travel a lot, so I would prefer lighter MBA, but I’m afraid that there will be not enough processor power

I’ve been working on a 2015 retina MacBook Pro 13in with 45GB/sec throughput w/ 16GB ddr3 ram, 512GB ssd connected to an external display. I’m ready to move up to a 15in MacBook Air maxed out with 100GB throughput, 24GB ddr5 ram, 2TB nand storage.

16 inch M2 Pro or 15 inch M2 MBA? I initially placed my order for a 15 inch MacBook Air with 16Ram and 1TB SSD, and then realized up for a little more. I can get either the 14 or the 16 Pro. Now I’m not really a pro user, max I’ll do is edit home movies, but the display is what’s driving me to maybe splurge and get the pro motion 120hz pro MacBook. Plus I’ll keep it for years to come. What would you suggest?
