Similar comparison but this time with M1 Pro (14 or 16 inch) would also be interesting.
Couldn’t tell any difference when it comes to the microphones and web cam.
I see little reason to buy 15 Air
Great video thanks
15 inch sounds better video looks great
Can you please compare the 15” M2 Macbook Air with the last 15” Intel Based Macbook Pro?
Apple was thinking people wanted a 15″ air. if you need a pro machine, don’t buy an air. it really is the simple.
Dude you are doing this again 😅 keeping two Macs together while do all the heavy loading test and let them sucking each others hot air,I just don’t get it 😂😂😂
M2 air mic sounds better
Refurbished M1 Macbook Pro 14 is a no brainer when compared to the upgraded M2 Air. Got myself an upgraded M2 Air 13 and very happy with it but only because I had a great deal, and I needed something very portable.
I have been wondering for a while what Apple was doing with the Macbooks relative to closeness of useability and price. For me clearly the Macbook 14 inch Pro M2 is far ahead and for only $50 more. There is nothing on the 15 inch Air that interests me. For sketching, I would have to connect my Huion Tablet to it which means I need an HDMI port. The iPad Pro can be attached with USB-C and used as a sketch tablet which works though kind of clunky. The Air doesn’t have a HDMI port. I can’t see any of the Airs topping the 14 inch M2 Pro. However, I must say the Surface Laptop Studio blows both out of the water due to art drawing/painting use. I would grade the SLS an 8.5 while the Macbook M2 Pro 14 inch a 7.5 and I would not purchase any laptop with a personal score less than 8. So, only the SLS for me. Now, if Apple comes out with an iPad Pro 14 inch that can do all of what the Macbook and iPad Pro can do combined then I would have to probably rate it at least a 9. So, the 14 inch is clearly better than the 15 inch Air but neither are worth purchasing for me.
Thanks for the test. I was very happy to see this new 15” air, I like the screen size and the design, but I need a laptop capable of everything for the next years, including a bit of gaming time to time, the trottle is a hugh problem. So unfortunately, I will not go with the 15” Air… also when it gets hot in summer, what will the 15” behave ? Shame…
If you still have a 14″ MBP M1 Pro laying around I would appreciate a comparison with that one too, Thanks!
The pro has a high refresh rate display. End of story.
15” MBA is a very nice system, but until prices drop, it would be hard for me to recommend one over the 14” MBP M2 for many creative pro users. The 15” is slightly lighter, slightly cheaper (street price for comparable configurations), and has an ~1” larger display, but is at BEST, comparable performance, while being significantly slower for more intense tasks. Definitely not the better choice for graphics pros or gamers. At the $300 difference in list prices, it’s an easier recommendation, but at the current $50-$100 difference in street prices, the 14” is almost always a better choice.
Now, for casual users for whom the entry level 8GB RAM, 256GB SSD configuration is sufficient, then there is much more to recommend the 15” MBA for that much larger price difference.
the 15 inch air is so thin, i love it. but i will never buy a air anymore, because i am a programmer, you will insight the big difference when running the code for a long time.
The MacBook Air is meant for media consumption, web browsing and other lighter tasks. The heavy stuff should be for the MacBook Pros
this new 15″ MacBook Air has got me thinking , I was just about to buy a M1 MacBook Pro 14″ … I wonder how they compare ?
These videos give you answers, sprinkled with some confusion.
Wonnnnderful comparison, and as an online teacher / coach I need the best Wi-Fi I could possibly get – even if it means I’d have to go with the 14 inch instead of the 15 like I had planned.
