M2 air can power one 6k display, which is more pixel the two 4k display. And apple does not allow it push dual 4k, not even the LG ultrafine the can chain by tb3 cable.

Thanks for the review! Although, it’d even more interesting to compare base 8gb 15″ MBA to 14″ MBP (M1 Pro + M2 Pro) to see if the lost performance on the Air justifies the price difference.
I’m choosing between the refurbished MBP and the Air since there’s just $350 price difference, but don’t know whether base Air’s performance if good enough for my work (large Figma files and prototypes with lots of images and complex transitions + occasional video editing and animation in After Effects)

The 14″ is too thick for typing. You get wrist fatigue after about half an hour. Best was M1 Air wedge design but the new Airs are alright.

No one will do the thermal mod on the 15 inch MBA because it has complex internals and the risk is too high. Regarding MBA vs MBP: 1) If you want portability you get the MBA. If you want power and connectivity, you get the MBP. And the best value is in the base configurations in each product.

There’s just no scenario where you’d pick the MBA over the MBP.
Reviewers need to push back on apple, 8GB/256GB is just not enough anymore for MacOS. You need a min of 16/512GB, that has to be the entry point for all M3 devices next year.

The MBP is a total no brainer. You’d be dumb to buy a MBA.
MBP is just as thin and the difference in weight is nothing – you don’t carry the laptop far, its in a bag and the battery is on par too.. So better screen, more ports, better sound, better performance – everything is just better on the MBP.

Comparing apples and oranges..14” M2 Pro is for high end professionals and content creators whereas 15” M2 Air is for 90% of people who do browsing, streaming , travelling and also for those who do freelance consulting work( powerful M2 chip can support all development flows and even Machine learning simulations) , so don’t be fooled by the comparisons ,listen to your heart and wallet and choose what you want now 😉👍…btw i’m a very satisfied 13” M2 air owner( lighter is better)

At this time, I personally think that it’s better to get M1 Pro with 10 cores (8 performance and 2 efficiency) than M2 pro 10 cores (6 performance and 4 efficiency)
In the multithread workloads, the M1 Pro will be better.

Thanks man ! that’s the real question and you made it true clear ! Buy the 15″ Air full entry model or get the 14″ Pro entry instead of upgrading the Air ! That’s the true point ! But anycase $$$$
