Can someone help me decide please! I have always been a windows guy, but I want an apple laptop to learn and develop ios apps. I am an upcoming sophomore in college and I am looking to use this laptop for the rest of my college career (maybe 2 years of grad school) to develop ios apps or anything that has to do with programming. Idk what specs I should go for tho like do I need go to up to 16gb? or do I need to upgrade my cpu? and 256gb should be enough right? Also I am just using this laptop to develop software on the go mostly or on school projects or any projects that need to be portable because I have a fairly good windows desktop that I built (in my dorm tho) so that might still be my main computer to use for some developing or just for gaming . I also thought about the new macbook air, but idk. I think I am leaning more on the macbook pro with the touchbar, but just not quite sure what kind of specs I really need and if any upgrade is necessary.

Really disappointed Apple, after Jobs generation. No more innovation, futuristic design and cutting edge design… . so bad to forged out so much $$$ for a same old chassis (bored), little changed in hardware altHough still solid mechanisms, but with this price i can go for greatest laptop with super spec and 2in 1 function. every year Fail to buy Apple laptop even prepare $$ for it, every year spec and design way too far behind other company Hence price was skyrock high. Jobs generation was innovation + high price (acceptable), nowadays old part + old software + higher $$$. Wish Vaio introduce a new high end tablet/ laptop to beat down Apple even with the same high price point (design and spec was way better then this). HP also catching up with trend… why Apple still step their old foot at the same spot

look at Samsung new multifunction laptop (eventhough price point so high), but beat Apple few block away, highend spec, vivid clear screen, 2 in 1, pen + paired with android smartphone. Did Apple going into 3rd world company level… .

this is why we have people over the age of 30 still living at home . we live in a consumer age where owning a 3,000$ laptop is more important than puting that cash towards a down payment on a home. it’s not even the consumers fault. the world is so tech driven that we all depend on it and need it. Lisa’s videos are amazing, I’ve watched all of them, but I cringe at all the price tags.
