For no particular reason at this moment I just have to say thank you again for your brilliant reviews. If there were a Pulitzer or a Peabody for these things I don’t think there’s any question that you’d be collecting them with both hands. Clear, engaging, focused, and you enthrall me with reviews of things I’ll never have or want. That’s the true test. Thanks!

True. The 3.1GH model with 2GB storage, 16GB (still no 32!!!) of RAM costs a bloody €4959,- here in Europe. That’s almost US$5555,-!
I wonder why Apple hates Europeans so much. Judging by the endless hordes of exotic ugly rapists from the 3rd World contemporary Europe appears to be so smitten with, I’m not surprised: if you hate yourself so much, why wouldn’t Apple? But, Apple, not all of Us do: some are quite proud and endowed with taste.

At any rate, I could buy a motorcycle for that money!

Imagine buying one as though it’s the very last computer you’ll ever save for – buying it, then 5-6 years later it gets so slow it will not even play the by then rather obsolete 4K video (forget about editing 4K) and you end up coveting its even more expensive judging by Apple’s pricing history, successor. In the mean time, its non-Apple counterparts will cost one-third yet run circles around it without ever trying. It’s a shame they run a hideous operating system: the only real reason I proudly shun non-Apple computers – always have, always will. But give Me macOS (not a stupid hack!) in a well-designed non-Apple computer for one third the price of this one – I’ll buy one in a heartbeat.

This is an excellent review! I definitely would like to see one of the 13-inch model, and hopefully reviews of the new iPad Pros as well. Still trying to determine what I want to replace my early 2011 MacBook Pro with. At this point, it seems like the 10.5-inch iPad Pro is the early leader.

The base line 15 inch starts at 2.799€ in my country and that’s around 3133 dollars, might as well buy a second hand car for that kind of money.
Honestly that’s like double the price I’m willing to spend on a laptop

16gb of ram nowadays is a definite no for many developers. I have to run multiple VMs and really require 32gb. Apple has *no* available laptop to fulfill some fairly basic developer needs
