I mentioned my thoughts on another of Lisa’s videos but sadly the MB Pro is not good value anymore. You can have the best designed notebook in the world but if it is priced beyond even a highend mainstream notebook there is simply no valid reason to consider buying any of these latest Pro’s. The lack of port functionality and the sub-standard GPU is the nail in the coffin for this latest series.
Excellent review.
Hey Lisa, Great review as always! When are you planning to review that Razer Blade? :3 I’m curious to see what you think about the new screen and GPU.
Lisa, thank you for confirming I made the right decision by returning the new 13 inch MBP and buying the last year’s 15-inch with discrete graphics. One question though: is there a way to efficiently measure the battery? My refurbished 15 inch mac gives me around 6 hours of youtube playback in safari, which I’m assuming is very low.
I feel for you, Lisa. I know you so wanted to say it was great, and as a fellow Apple product lover, I wanted to hear that. The reality is that this is not by any stretch of the imagination a PRO tag worthy product. I’m sad for it, because I waited 6 months for the release and feel so let down.
Great review and thank you for being honest.
Do you think it is worth spending 5000 dollars on this laptop or the new razer blade is a better choice?
Nice review, a lot of stuff that was missed by others.
A laptop that hurts to carry, yikes.
I have to appreciate the way you Review the products, its simply awesome..
Can u make a smakdown comparison between new 13 inch macbook (touchbar ) vs Surface book ( Non performance Base) ??
I am debating between these two, which are on same price range.
Thanks
great video!! which will you suggest the 2015 or the 2016 mac pro for photo editing or any other brand
Holy shit that’s an expensive machine! What exactly are you creating to justify paying $5k for a damn laptop!!
If you can’t stomach all the changes, move to new I/O and, and small spec bump you should spec the hell out of last gen MacBook… Oh wait that has scary outdated internal components 🙁
The fact that the performance gains are minimal compared with the previous model is unnerving. This is a way better review than others who do read and write speeds of the ssd. This is a more complete review and real insight in the shortcomings of this laptop. Needless to say, great job!
So everything boils down to the usage scenario. I think I will stick with Windows and get a decent laptop coz I use Adobe Products and do light gaming once a while. That pen in the Surface line-up will be great for editing images. (it is pricey too) Does any other Windows laptops have support for a stylus or pen? (on the cheaper side)
I have the Dell XPS 15 9550, which has the exact same processor, but gets higher Geekbench scores of 4310 and 12881. I wonder if thermals are limiting the clock speed in the Macbook Pro? Or maybe macOS is just not as well optimized for performance?
I love apple and their products but these past few months I’m feeling disappointed. Most of all ever since Brexit everything Apple has been priced way out of proportions in Europe! Im not even British! I’m seeing a repeat of the times when I had to buy electronics from America again. I no longer see myself buying any of the new MacBooks anytime soon. The killing off of their Display and AirPort lineup also got me down. All around frustration. The only product I’m excited about next year is the new iPad Pro 🙁 Honestly this year has been very shitty all around.
I rather keep my 2015 MacBook Pro and skipping 2016 MacBook Pro models.
you’re the first mentioning the issue trying to look at the screen and then touch bar same time.
Didn’t know anyone actually thought that having a touch screen on a laptop gives a good user experience..
for photo editing which windows laptop is better?
Serious question… if I switch to a Windows laptop, will the hipsters at Starbucks talk to me anymore?
