Screen notch on a laptop in 2023 🤪🤪🤪
never owned a macbook and never will. company laptop is a macbook, overrated and buggy, my linux laptop is way better
Quality indepth review as always Lisa.
This would’ve been perfect for me 🤩
There is a big difference between mini led display and this one..better go for oled entry level laptip, put linux on it and that’s it 🙂 Or spend a fortune for a pro and….in 5 years put linux on it 🙂
04:18 My mother thinks you cloned our cat.
Had to spend 10 minutes convincing her it is not a photo of ours. 😂
Apples 15″ 8gb of ram for $1,300 is disrespectful in 2023. Good thing base model 16″ MacBook pro M1 is going for $1,500 refurbished.
If I want play Death Stranding as well, do you guys suggest me to get the 15 inch plus a Steam Deck or straight up 16 inch MBP M2 Max? I do hope to get M3 series of chip tho because it likely to have ray tracing hardware. I love PS5 but I not sure where I will move to later so a home console I not sure is ideal right now unless it is free for me. I also want to emulate other system of games and do programming and development stuffs too.
Maybe in another 10-15 years they’ll finally release a touch-screen version🤔
8GB RAM and 256SSD as standard is laughable in 2023…and it was also laughable in 2020…
There’s no native support for more than one external monitor but that’s easily solved with a dock (e.g. DisplayLink) and you can easily drive 3 external monitors.
I know you do mostly high end laptops but can you review the new asus vivobook?
This might, just might, move me from a Windows PC. The gap between a 13 inch and then having to buy a Pro was simply too big. I hope they make a 16 or 17 inch.
Been waiting for this review!! thank you Lisa. btw – in real life use, is Midnight black a fingerprint magnet?
I love her reviews. I feel like she’s one of my Tech Review Mt. Rushmores. Her reviews helped me with my phone choices over the years. It’s amazing.
The most objective review, the only one that underlines how ridiculously expensive are the upgrades by Apple. My LG Gram 16 Pro is $500 cheaper compared to a full configured Air ! On top it has a bit bigger screen (matte), bigger battery providing similar battery run-times, better keyboard (not so shallow), 32gb of RAM and an NVIDIA GPU so it can play some games. I still do not get the hype
Thanks for your wonderful review, as always! 😀 I had been waiting _a loooong time_ for this one! Long before the rumors, back in about 2016 when I was looking forward to getting my first computer for uni, I was dreaming about a 15″ MBA. In 2018 I had to get 15″ Pro for uni because I knew I would be split-screening a lot… but of course it cost me over $2k. If it wasn’t for generous help from my aunt and uncle, this would have been out of range! I’m so happy a 15″ MBA finally exists! That 1 monitor limit is a bit unfortunate and I wish one of the two USB-C ports was on the right side, but it’s a solid device otherwise! My 2018 15″ MBP still functions well however, and its speakers are so good, I’m unsure whether the 15″ MBA speakers would be an upgrade or downgrade (probably not much of a downgrade if at all, given the 6 speakers on the MBA), but the battery is slowly reducing. Perhaps in a few years, when there’s 15″ M4 or M5 MBA, it’ll be a solid upgrade, to get the amazing battery life, instant opening of apps and lighter weight! Hopefully by then it will support 2 monitors too, though that’s not absolutely essential for me since I normally only use 1, but it’s future-proofing.
Ill wait for m3
TEMPORAL DITHERING IS KILLING OUR EYES.
Hi Lisa, dying to know – roughly what percentage brightness is 200 nits on this MacBook? Thanks!
