Well, I would say that 8 GB of Ram is poor. But as a M2 chip the efficiency is really good so it is not really a concern because I have used a pc with 8 GB of ram as a computer scientist and not so many problems. But 256GB of memory, they should be ashamed 😤
It is a myth that Windows machines do not start with 8GB RAM for base models. I researched, and premium Windows ultrabooks all start with 8GB! These include; XPS 13 Plus, Galaxy Book3 Pro, Surface Laptop, etc. HP start at 16GB on its 2-in-1s, but the prices reflect the higher RAM/SSD (Spectre). So I wonder why some comments suggest this is only an Apple thing, as it clearly is not?
Great review, nice product, fabulous T Shirt.
This makes the 13” MBA obsolete and canibalises sales of the 14” MBP
I would need a 512 SSD and 16 GB of Ram that is 1700. I could get a 14-inch Macbook Pro refurbished for it after a while. To expensive
Can they at least add 120hz display. ffs…
Are there any giveaways Lisa?
Still sad how Apple charges you so much cash for just fricking 16 or 24GB of Ram. My Desktop Machine alone didn’t cost me 600€+ and it has 64GB of RAM, and a CPU that is certainly efficient and more powerful than these ARM chips.
you’ll never win with some ppl. replace the default from 8GB/256GB to 16GB/512GB and obviously you’ll pay a higher starting price and so the same ppl will then complain about how it’s too expensive.
my suggestion is to go with the RAM upgrade to 16GB and skip the 512GB SSD. you have tons of external storage option so even if you do run out, it’s a simple workaround. most basic users who upgrade to the 512GB option never actually requires that much space to begin with so that extra money spent will just be sitting idle with no return on investment.
Thanks for sharing this video, helpful indeed. In fact I am currently looking for a new device to replace my model (MacBook Pro 13 inch) which was assembled in the year 2014. However I notice the MacBook Air to miss the slot for SD cards and as I use a Micro SD card on a regular basis (supported by a SD Micro SD adapter) I am wondering how I could import the data from a MacBook Air from a Micro SD card as I haven’t found any Apple items featuring this. Besides some missing slots I tend to buy a MacBook Air as it is also very powerful and I do not need a good quality sound on my MacBook.
Anyway, maybe I have missed something but an in-depth buyer’s guide to help make a good decision in terms of MacBook Pro 16 inch versuch MacBook Air 15 inch would be great to have!
wow. 8 more gigs for $200.
that’s 10x their cost
5:14 you almost said they got more AIR in the chassis, and that’s not strictly speaking wrong 😉
THE authoritative review – as usual
I love how Apple makes windows laptops look like a piece of junk. I don’t love there’s no gaming option though. And also many software limitations compared to windows. If windows laptops become more well built, there will be no reason to buy a mac. Still, gorgeous looking piece of mac. Thanks for the nice review lady!🙂
That shirt goes so hard bruh 💯
this is as expensive as the Pro 13in. So it is either you choose a laptop with fan or screen size.
Lady MobileTechReview. What is the best laptop that you haver ever review and use?
🥇Lisa! Have 16” MI MBP 16G/1T. Amazing but CHUNKY WEIGHT makes it feel like a “desktop”. Holding in 1 hand, you can really feel it. So, when I leave home, I typically take 12.9” iPad Pro w/MKB case. Apple trade-in: Only $1060 (pristine condition since rarely off my desk). Were trade-in cost equal to 15”MBA, I’d swap 🤷🏽♀️
You rock Lisa
Always upgrade ram first to 16gb before ssd
