Smh it doesn’t even have sockets for the $700 wheels I bought
I don’t see any defects with the heatsink and it does take a good while before it throttles below base clock so I don’t believe it’s just my unit. Really strange though, I’d assume both models would have at least equal cooling. There should be way more headroom than just 3 extra watts vs the lower end 13″ Pro.
Speaker quality on the more expensive one ($1799) is really good. It’s got dedicated subwoofers and makes audio/video content a lot more enjoyable.
Having 4 ports also helps with versatility if you carry your macbook to places and want ports on both sides of the machine.
The baseline macbook pro 13 comes so close to the Air (also overlaps in many areas) that it’s not worth paying extra for the Pro.
The more powerful Macbook pro 13 _can_ come close to the Pro 16 in terms of price. But for some people, size really does matter. Not everyone can carry around the extra weight and size of the 16″ version.

Excellent video again, specifically for trackpad emphasis! Fan of the cinematography. Please make videos with AMD 4700u or 4800u processors. Those are in high demand and will spike up your views.

It is pretty sad when a MacBook Pro needs to be put in a freezer or brought to the north or south pole in order to not thermal throttle.
Really helpful information that I haven’t been able to find in any other generic kind of reviews of this product, I hope your channel gets a lot more attention because you really deserve it. Keep it up 🙂
Nice job man, really great review!
I wonder if a fan stand for the Macbook Pro will make a difference in temperature 🤔I’m sure it will help a little bit.
Hmm 🤔 I don’t like how you say performance is the same between the $1299 and $1799 models yet you show no testing to prove it. Where are your real world render times? Where are your benchmarks?
Great video!
great review, thanks for explaining everything instead of just saying its good or bad.
You’re really good at dodgeball 🙂
When will you do reviews of the $700 wheels?
I mean if you want 512 storage and 16 ram, you might as well get the 10th gen base model for 200 more.
Sorry I think your logic is a bit flawed. And just like you I don’t need to show my workings as to how I reached my conclusion. Where are your benchmarks? How did you conduct your testing? I’d like to believe you and take your recommendations, but where is the science?
i’m going to go with the 10th gen version mainly because i want to keep it for at least 5-6 years, like my current macbook pro 13 late 2013. Surfing the web with my current one and having adblock is really really slow, while playing youtube videos i get sometimes frame drops and the macbook for some reason randomly freezes for like 5-20 seconds even after a clean mac os install and replacing thermal paste/dusting it out. I’ll should be having it in about 1 week.
Oh and were your test done with the default fan curve ? Because i think it could help a lot if you tune it a bit. For my macbook pro while doing a cinebench r20 run the fans for some reason only kick in at 93 c and temps max out at 95-97 c but while having my custom fan curve i get a 20 c drop at max. (average of 15 c drop) Using macs fan control and setting fan speed based on cpu core 1, setting fan to turn on at 38 c and having a max temp target of 85 c. Honestly with that fan curve the fans are inaudible for me while the cpu is between 40-55 c after that it can get i bit noisy but not an issue for me.
