I can understand why Togashi would not want anyone to do his work. As a writer myself, I see my work as being a part of my being. Another person taking what you put your heart and soul into and possibly going in a direction that you don’t want it to go is one of the worst things an artist can experience.

I have no idea why he doesn’t just hand over the drawing side of things to someone else. I mean what the fuck. his drawings are piss poor anyway. it’s not like anyone would miss them if the art style changed. and it probably WOULDN’T change because his style is so basic that a ton of people would easily emulate it or even do it way better. seriously I could draw like him. let me in coach I’m ready

Togashi needs to end his manga so someone else can take his spot or let someone do the artwork and he does the storyboard. He needs to let go of his pride if he wants to see Hunter x Hunter get finished and that will take a lot of stress off of him aswell.

the problem is Togashi not relying on assistance. Assistants merely alleviates the work focusing on background and SFX elements. The story is all his work. The characters are all his. The fact that Togashi does not even utilize this has brought his health down to this very point. The blame ultimately lies with him and him alone.

I don’t think Hunter x Hunter will ever be scrapped. Maybe dropped from Jump and switched to another magazine, but not scrapped
