HxH is an interesting show because it shows itself as being bright and colorful and has a fun fantasy world but underneath it all from the start you see cracks in the facade from Kurapika’s village being killed off to Hisoka brutally murdering a man and leaving a paralyzed Gon to stare at the dead corpse and the whole spider arc but then they tried to fix the illusion that it was just another funny quirky anime like Dragon ball or Naruto with the greed island arc where there is still a darkness underneath but it’s mostly unimportant to the arc and then your hit with the chimaera ant arc and then you realize that greed island was the last respite before that mask finally gets ripped off and what was being hidden is dragged into the light for everyone to see and the moment this song happens is when the scope of everything becomes apparent and it’s so amazing. God I love this show
