I just expect this to be a typical shonen beatdown. Character get power up, villain get beaten, and peace is restored once more.
Well, peace is indeed restored, the villain indeed get beaten, but in more complicated way. People did not cheering over victory, it’s rather a depressing moment. And for me chimera ant is a tragedy, unlike an arc where we see a cool villain with cool power get beaten by main character. It feels like when you watch the news you something horrible happened, people died, and it’s affect the world. I seriously am glad to see Leorio after the incident. Leorio is like a medicine after those depressing moment.
