Whenever I listen to this song, it doesn’t connect me with Killua and Gon as such. Instead it’s the culmination of some gut wrenching feelings.
Imagine a poor guy. He has a beautiful heart. He wakes up early, goes out, greats everyone with bright smile. He believes the world is a nice place with nice people and there is no malice in anyone’s heart. He works hard at his job. Returns home. Loves his family more than anything. Spends time playing with his kids. Kisses her wife every night before going to bed. He is happy and wants to make everyone around him happy. That’s the beginning section of the song.
But then over the period of time, his neighbors start to call him simpleton because he is living a simple life. His co worker start some kind of gossip about him. His boss yells at him for the mistakes he didn’t do. Nobody offers him a seat in the bus despite telling passengers that his legs are swollen. His kids are not happy with him coz he is not able to buy expensive toys for them. His wife wants some excitement in the life and not just the lovey-dovey part. Our guy doesn’t quite understand what wrong he did. What did he do to deserve this kind of response from everyone. He becomes extremely sad. That’s the middle section of this song. It’s a struggle to balance happiness and expectations.
Then one day he breaks apart coz he can’t handle it anymore. He snaps and loses his mental control. Hi becomes crazy and everyone abandons him. Even his family. That’s the climax section of this song.
And then at the end, he is at a mental institute living his rest of the life. Nobody loves him anymore despite him loving everyone above himself. That’s the end section of the song, the silencing.
It’s kinda like the story of Gyro.
