This song does such an amazing job with moving all of these melodies with each other. I’ve always thought of it as the music trying to translate all of the very complex, real, and very human emotions that take place within every character in CA arc. Almost like each moving line can be described with an emotion that went moving together creates a very complex feeling within people. It’s one of the craziest abilities in music to describe how you feel without words. When listening to this song, the ostinato (repeating melody) that they give us towards the start of the song always made me feel like I’m lost at sea in this pitch black world. The swelling of dynamics of this rhythm Emulate monsters currents that push and pull not allowing me a second to collect myself. And then at 0:51 the French horn glides over this sea of sorrow and disparity like this light peering through the darkness revealing a hand reaching out to me. As a small hope for salvation. It’s interesting to think that the role the French horn plays in this piece is almost like that of Killua’ s role in this arc. Giving everything he has to try and save Gon from this fate he’s condemned himself to. Gon, being filled with so much hate and malice almost drowning out killuas voice. In this desperate exchange of love and hate Climaxes in the end leaving nothing but regret in its place. Witch I feel is expertly portrayed in 2:16 .
