I just tried it all out and it works great, thanks! The popup flash still shoots even with it’s set to “–” in the menu. Is that correct?
Hi I believe its i-ttl not ettl for Nikon.
Does not work with D7500!! There you need to go to AWL Mode
+++I have Nikon D7200 and Yongnuo YN685 There is only i-TTL mode on YN685.

hi..if i shoot manual, so i set the commander to manual mode, say 1/2 compensation power. what should i do with the actual flash, do i need to set is as well? if so, what would be the setting?

My D7500 has ‘exposure comp. for flash’ where ‘flash control for built-in flash’ is listed on your camera. It’s not elsewhere in the menu, either. Any ideas?
