I took 10C off the running temp of an old gtx970 one time with a repaste, you could also repaste your CPU every 4-5 years for a laugh if you fancied it.

I did this with my old laptop too it’s like old for today’s standards but it runs Windows 10 but I noticed like the bottom of the laptop was quite hot but the fan was just blowing eh some hot air. It’s a hp elitebook 2540p if anyone is curious but after i repasted it and it’s chipset too the air is much coming out the fan is much hotter than before. I think i might do it again someday to see if it got enough contact with the die there but it’s a bit more better with actual thermals. Repaste your stuff it works great I think i did that with my old PS3 and 360. They work great and they both throw a lot more heat from the back now

Just so you know the right to repair now applies to graphics cards, so now you can change thermal paste and not lose your warranty
