I have an actual question
Do you have to put thermal paste?
Like with a normal computer just for casual gaming no extreme rgb, 200fps and other stuff but just a already pre built computer you just bought, to play like games like apex, gmod, tf2, etc?

Im getting a pc in 2 months from my mom and i really need help/tips

Someone please tell me what to do, my gpu heatspreader is a bit chipped and it constantly crashing whenever I play a game on it (its a laptop gpu, Asus TUF fx505dt, gpu is 1650 4GB)

Had to tear down my ASUS ROG Strix RX 6700XT cuz the card was running with +30-40°c junction temps vs edge (I.e. 50°c edge would typically be 80-90°c junction), factory mount and thermal compound was awful. Barely had any thermal compound (only about 2/3rds the die had some compound, and even then that was very, very thin). Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut really kicks some serious ass, I dropped my temps to like 60-70°c junction under heavy gaming / 3dmark Time spy and Port Royal.

Definitely a good tip, just make sure to take your time and look up tear down guides first if you’re unsure!

Bought an old 1060 6gb. I am really proud of it but the temos were quite high (82 degrees celsius). After cleaning it, reasembling and tighening the screws in a cross pattern, it now reaches 72 degrees under stress. I really recommend changing thermal paste with a quality one , mx 4 is really good.

I need to do this with my RX6600. It’s getting insanely hot on games that even my single fan 1660S wasn’t getting too hot on. The only issue will be finding all the screws to expose the PCB 😄
