It’s not the headphone you should be worried about. It’s your ear when you accidentally plug in a headphone when the volume is at 100%.

I did once and my god did I learn a lesson.

This video demonstrates a basic misunderstanding of how amplification works… Reasonable-quality (i.e. not dollar-store) drivers will never blow because too much power is available to them; they’ll simply play as loudly as the voice coil can possibly require.
The reason why drivers blow is because either the cone materials are built to a lower standard than the voice coil or because there isn’t enough amplification power to drive them which leads to premature death in speakers.

But would they survive a Emotiva A2M in full power mode? It delivers 50 watts into 8 and 90 into 4… they don’t say how much it delivers into 30ohm headphones but the amp has enough power to drive the absolute hungriest headphones out there!

it feels like someone is spamming my subscriptions feed. i don’t want to unsubscribe please, it gives YouTube’s algorithm more power to surface whatever it wants to promote. I was listening to my XS and hit pause to plug my old hd598cs, when I played I blasted my ears and heard a distorted sound from my hd598cs, and they kept sounding weird after that. Turn out that was the stock cable that was making this weird distortion, just swap the cables for the aftermarket ones and it was fine 🙂
