The adjustment is not a gimmick. You have to move the slider while you have them on your head.

They’re pretty old (as in they’ve been making them for a long time). You can see that from how they’re built, but they’re still pretty good and you can buy lifetime warranty for them. Costs you about $10 extra but you get them repaired (they’ll switch them for new ones) for about $2.

Oh and you can pretty much destroy them completly but they’ll repair it as long as you give them more than 50% of the headphones and they can make out the model.
