For what it’s worth I sold my $500+ Moondrop Variations IEMs because my ~$120 Phillips Fidelio X2 headphones were giving me pretty much the same sound, I honestly couldn’t tell them apart.
Why not using multiple driver in full size headphones then?
Whats the problem. Its bigger, so there is more space.
It depends on the use case, on the move always IEM, at the desktop almost always headphones.
I’m listening to you on an IFI Go Blue with Moondrop Arias -OG…and they’re great!
I take speakers over IEMs, and much cheaper as well
I really appreciate the take and the understanding, but i cant liaten to IRMs for an extended period of time.
Why dont many headphone company play eith multiple drivers?
Truth is, everything sounds quite good these days, cheap, expensive, whatever. It is a great era for sound.
True.
Headphones in the greater media (written&video) are way overrated. For example, most never slams.
Headphones are much better value than IEMs tho. I’m sure I’m not the minority here
Will never understand people that spend crazy money on item’s. Shit seems like a waste to me
4 me n IEM is the most sensitive transducer Cuz 1) rite thru ur ear canal the closest to it 2) possible to hear flawless in ur system which other not sensitive enough 3) endgame possible system 4 anyone cuz wealthy people only can affort hi end game system Not in IEM worlds.. Ur ears must be aquarated towards endgame system not money.. 4)Then only come those advatages of hybrid..tribrid etc.. For me harder to do dat others then IEM.. My collections single planar n single dd.. for current time now..Yup delta sigma + Tubes = endgame system 4 IEM.. peace!
If headphones or speaker.. The endgame one.. Sounds like live performed in front ur face 4 real.. But IEM u r in the studio with em.. Peace again!
Thanks Precogvision! It was always clear you preferred IEMs to headphones but quite surprising to hear why you don’t like headphones after all these years. Still I salute your courage in speaking your mind. 👍🏻
Mate if I listened to the music you do, Id hate every headphone I heard too.
Headphones Always on Top
⚠️IEMs can literally hurt your ears I wear my headphones over and over put them on like 20 or 25 times a day now imagine if I do that with IEMs Inserting a thing like that into your ears on a daily basis can produce more wax than normal not to mention the bacteria they has the ear tips, I even think that I damaged my right ear canal for the simple fact of putting them on (because of the vacuum that occurs when inserting them quickly into the ear) and now I heard a little bit low than my left ear
Well but I find people are more sensitive to iem’s tuning. If something is tuned badly, they would sound really off on iems.
If you’re comparisons are in the few-hundred $$ and below range, then there are comparisons to be made. If your standards for sound quality, comfort, and ease of use are beyond that, then there is just no comparison. Also, the best sounding IEMs still have only a single dynamic or planar driver IME and balanced armature drivers are just silly for music. The crazy amounts of odd-order distortion is just laughable. Especially in cheap chi-fi IEMs. Then there’s the torture test of finding the best tips, which is very personal so you’re pretty much on your own. IDK, I just see them as toys for the most part, but to each their own.
If you don’t like the tuning just use EQ.
Hi don’t like the sound stage in most IEMs
