So it does have a separate battery for the tablet and the keyboard part?
Its keyboard is hardly visible because its grey…
Battery life is decreased over the last one, WTF?
CPU is still mediocore, if new Macbook use Ryzen nobody will even consider SurfaceBook
If you’re an artist, I think you better go Surface Pro/iPad Pro route…
Trackpad is the smallest in 2020
No Surface Pen included (they want to rip you, but nobody gonna buy SurfaceBook in the first place)
I think for me, the people who would really appreciate the Surface Book 3 are the graphic artists who want an all-in-one solution for a pen-capable tablet computer, that they can use as a normal laptop, then take it off to draw or flip it around and bend it backwards. Because they need sufficient power, but their needs aren’t so crazy that they’d look for what gamers do.
The question on my mind for these graphic artist use cases, is how does the artist adjust the angle for drawing? The screen is heavy and I see it tends to wobble when attached, so even if you flip it around and attach it to the base backwards, you can’t exactly fold the book to your perfect angle then draw on it. I’d imagine you’d be pushing it closed like this. Do you tent it? Because the book’s got a weird shape too when folded, is there an accessory stand with adjustable angles that you can pop this thing on? I’d imagine the tablet mode is the most comfortable way to use it when drawing, but definitely the artists want that graphics card and extra boost of power while attached to the base.
What’s the movie name?!
Waiting a video about 1+ 8 pro ir camera……
I am a researcher and i am using the surface book 2. I really like it, it is the only of its kind. The versatility comes with the machine is incredible and i could constantly switch between using it as a desktop (by hooking it to the surface dock), a laptop and a tablet. The unique thing about it is the touch screen and the workflow with the surface pen, which i found rarely talked about. I use the onenote all the time to take notes, derive my ideas and document my experiments. The touch functions also enables new possibilities when i am dealing with image data, being able to interact with a picture using pen instead of a mouse is really natural, and surface book is really nailing it.
Thermal performance is a bummer though. The tablet part does not have a fan in my 13′ SB and it overheats A LOT. I have to put a USB fan in order to stop it from constant throttling…
Thanks for a great review Dave. 🙂
yo that wecame is sooooooooo Good
i totally agree with his comment on the headphone color.

Remember the Acer Swift 3 with a Rysen 4700U David reviewed two weeks ago? Give me that with a price increase of $100 for a better screen instead of this Surface Book!
well done Dave always keep your honesty, you said very accurate point about performance and price vs other laptop
We like magnetic charger
You look so cute
If I had to receive bad news I would pick Dave to tell me cause his voice is so calming 😂
woulda hit like if he talked about the multi device pairing on headphones. it’s MS’s biggest advantage on the market now
Why is MagSafe universally loved and missed, while the Surface Connector gets constantly hated on, when it’s basically the same thing? It can even do more that MagSafe ever could, combining data with 130W of power!
Which is that movie
