In my mind the surface book 3 would have made more sense with the i7-10710u. Even more sense with the Ryzen 47/4800u but I doubt they’d switch cpu suppliers even if it means a better product.

Surface Book was cool back in 2015, nowadays it is a very expensive product with a gimmick that isn’t useful to everybody.

I have the surface book 2 and I don’t use it in tablet mode nearly as much as I expected, which is frustrating because that feature along with the GPU (the best in a 13.5inch laptop at the time) were what drew me to purchase. I wish there were cases available for the screen component (which could be left on when connected to the keyboard), especially as even the 13.5 inch can be a bit unwieldy for a tablet, and the smooth magnesium is slippery. I’m just too nervous about dropping the screen of my 2000 dollar investment without a case.

Can’t really knock them for refusing to adopt thunderbolt which has a major security flaw on it – one which they’ve warned intel about years ago.
