I have the XM4s but I’ve just bought a pair ofTechnics EAH-800 and so far I’d say that they are much more comfortable, sound better (with tighter bass, great midrange and treble), have a better app and have 50 hours of battery life. I was going to go for the XM5s but took a risk and it’s paid off in my opinion.

I think Sony’s software could be more polished for using the headphones with multiple devices, like a phone and a tablet. Data is not synchronized seamlessly between devices and often the Headphones Connect app crashes when changing devices.

These headphones may sound good but they’re finished in that horrible rubber coating that marks incredibly easily and like all products coated in this nasty stuff, it’s sure to go sticky and peel off over time. Put your fingernail anywhere near it and watch it dig through and scratch. I don’t know why manufacturers still insist on using this material. It’s a deal killer for me.

I bought them the day they released… I really like them except I just hate that Sony doesn’t make anything compatible. Tried connecting these to my PlayStation and that was a total fail.

I just got these headphones and haven’t had the chance to take them somewhere. I recently read a review and it said that the headphones broke from the headband due to the pressure in the backpack with other stuff in it. Is the case really that weak?

I have quite a narrow head and I feel that when I tilt my head down they almost come off and might fall down, they’re like hanging from my ears.

It would be very nice if they had support for audio over usb, not only for the battery but what I thought of before and still do, for lag free playback and the anc is the icing on the cake

To be honest, I have MX5 for nearly 2 weeks and I really want to love it but it’s so hard to be loved when I can’t enjoy wearing it. The ANC is really bad compared to MX4 as I can still hear people talking on the train, in coffee shops, wind sound, and the cars passing by my house. To be more clear, my AirpPod Pro could do the same job (ANC) as MX5, even better on the train and in the library. I don’t think letting AI cancel the noise for us is a good move for Sony. I shouldn’t have upgraded from MX4 to MX5 in the first place, returned it!
