is bose 700 great for calls ? I do have QC35 and its terrible for calls because the inner micro, inner micros are the worst for me till now

To turn on and off speak to chat on the XM4s all you have to do is put two fingers on the sensor for a few seconds

I love my XM4’s, but everytime a song hits me and I start to sing….it thinks I’m talking…..which, I fear, says more about my singing ability than the speak to chat feature 😱

On xm4s You can turn on or off speak to chat by holding 2 fingers on the right ear cup.
Don’t need to go into the app and do it.

7:12 this is absolute bullshit; in a quiet environment calls are ok but not great. headsets with a boom mike are still vastly superior

The Sonys were on a very good sale on Amazon so even though I’ve already had the Bose for quite a while and am happy with them I decided to get the Sonys to try them both. Here’s my take.

The Sonys have WAY more features and the phone app is miles better. There’s just absolutely no contest there. It handles switching between two bluetooth devices far better than the Bose, which can sometimes get hung up on either my phone or computer and refuse to switch even though no audio is playing on the device I want it to switch away from.

Bose out of the box doesn’t sound as good at first glance, but the app has a very rudimentary equalizer now which with some tweaking puts them both basically identical as far as sound, imo, and if you’re primarily using them with a computer (as I am), getting a more robust equalizer for windows provides even more incredible results. I was driving myself crazy trying to hear any difference which means there probably isn’t one. I think any perceived difference in sound quality is because Sony’s phone app just has many more and better EQ presets and their default EQ sounds brighter and fuller and less neutral, rather than an actual difference in driver quality.

Bose has noticeably better noise cancelling, for ME is noticeably more comfortable (VERY much disagree in this regard but my head is on the smaller side so ymmv), and the build quality is just far better, it feels far more solid and has that full metal headband, whereas the Sonys feel very light and hollow and plastic-ey, they definitely do not feel premium.

Ultimately I don’t care THAT much about the features the Sony has, except for the whole put your hand on the earcup to start hearing outside sounds which is FANTASTIC and I do wish the Bose had, so I prefer the greater comfort, noise cancelling, and build quality of the Bose and I’m planning to give away the Sonys as a gift to a friend. But both of them are very good headphones and I don’t think anybody will be massively disappointed that they chose one over the other.

Bose is everything but I feel like Bose is better I really don’t like baby’s crying every 35 minutes I really do like it makes me want to jump of the plane so I will go for the Bose

I own both ( because I need a back up ,always) I like the Bose for sound quality much better & noise canceling but for
everything else Sony Rocks too 🙂

I bought my first Sony WH-1000XM4 in January 2022. It would not charge and so was returned and serviced. On getting it back it recharged once and then quit. They replaced it with a new headset and unbelievably it also would not recharge. It has been returned to Sony twice for repair. When it’s working it’s great but I’ll never buy another Sony after this experience.
